Gloster Meteor F.Mk.IV - No.3 Squadron, 150 Wing, RAF Second Tactical Air Force, June 1944 In the Spring of 1944 Acting Wing Commander Roland 'Bee' Beamont was asked to form the first Hawker Tempest Wing in time for the invasion of Europe. However, industrial action at the Hawker factory meant that insufficient numbers of Tempest aircraft were available to equip the planned three-squadron wing so the Gloster Meteor F.Mk.IV was chosen to serve alongside the Spitfire LF.IX's of No.56 and No.486 squadrons within the newly formed 150 Wing under the operational control of the Second Tactical Air Force. No.3 Squadron were declared operational on May 30th, 1944 flying the new version of the Gloster Meteor and were in action on D-day when Beamont's Wing encountered Bf109's over the invasion beaches shooting down three of them without loss. The two remaining Spitfire squadrons were replaced by Meteor's during June and July. 150 Wing were also downing V-1 flying bombs over Kent and by August Beamont's Wing had accounted for 638 V-1's. DCS: Fw 190 A-8 Available for Pre-Order Last week we were delighted to announce the start of the DCS: Fw 190 A-8 Anton pre-order. Save now and save 20% until the Anton is launched in June 2019. Pre-order the Fw 190 A-8 now and save 20% off from DCS e-shop. Designed for the German Luftwaffe by famed aircraft designer Kurt Tank in the late-1930s, the Fw 190 was the backbone of the Luftwaffe in both fighter and attack bomber roles. Powered by a large radial engine, the A version of the Focke-Wulf 190 was superior in many ways to the Bf 109s and Spitfires at the time of its introduction. In fact, this led to the development of the Mk.IX version of the Spitfire. The Spitfire LF Mk.IX and the Fw 190 A-8 make excellent counterparts for DCS World. The Fw 190 later evolved into the Fw 190 D-9, also available on DCS World. Many of the Luftwaffe’s aces racked up their impressive kill counts in the Fw 190 A due to its impressive fire power, excellent low to medium altitude performance, durability, and ease of flying. It saw action on both the eastern and western fronts where it was both respected and feared by allied pilots. Armament included two fuselage-mounted 13 mm MG 131 machine guns and four wing-mounted MG 151/20E 20 mm cannons. The aircraft could also be loaded with unguided rockets and bombs. The A-8 version of the Fw 190 entered production in February 1944, and it was powered by a BMW 801 D-2 radial engine. In addition to excellent low- and medium-altitude performance, the engine was also very rugged. Along with the F-8 version, it also had thicker armor around the engine. The engine also received the C3 injection system that provided an emergency boost of 1,980 PS in short durations. Key features of the DCS: Fw 190 A-8: Unmatched flight physics that allow you to truly feel what it's like to fly this legend. Highly detailed, six-degrees-of-freedom (6 DOF) cockpit. Interact with cockpit controls with your mouse. Accurate Fw 190 A-8 model, squadron markings, and weapons. Detailed modelling the Fw 190 A-8 instruments, weapons, engine, radios, fuel, and electrical systems. Battle the Spitfire LF Mk.IX and P-51D Mustang in single and multiplayer games. DCS: I-16 by OctopusG Available on Steam Purchase on Steam here! The I-16 was a Soviet, monoplane fighter developed during the 1930s inter-war years. It was innovative for its time with a low-wing cantilever design and retractable landing gear. It was the USSR’s primary fighter at the start of World War 2 where it primarily battled the Bf 109 Emil. In addition to the Second World War, the I-16 was also used in the Spanish Civil War and the second Sino-Japanese War. The I-16 type 24 was powered by an M-63 radial engine that gave it a top speed of 462 kph. The aircraft was armed with four 7.62 ShKAS machine guns. In total, 7,000 single seat versions of this famous fighter were built. The I-16 is a fun and interesting aircraft and further grows our stable of warbirds. This aircraft is particularly interesting when flown in virtual reality. Key features of DCS: I-16 by OctopusG include: Detailed animated 3D fighter model. True interactive cockpit providing 6DoF. Realistic simulation of aircraft systems including electric and fuel flow system, engine system and lighting facilities. Realistic simulation of unique mechanical landing gear retraction system. High-density textures of the cockpit and external 3D model providing reflection and bump maps. Set of authentic liveries. Sincerely, The Eagle Dynamics Team

Are you so sure, that i dont speak russian? Do you think i cant read and write cyrillic? Do you really believe i dont understand what is written in russian? Really? Of course you are better in this. You are from Kiev. And the ukrainian language is nothing else than an old russian dialect with some latin letters in it. But i have learned russian in scholl and during my studyies. My russian is good enough. Fact! If you run out of arguments you starts to become offensive.! Its ukrainian style. Its ukrainian behaviour, as we can see in your parliament. You started to mix thinks together which have nothing in common without one point, they are strenghen your feeling of supperiority over the russians. In your eyes the russians are stupid, unable, unskilled, incompetent etc.pp. But if they are, why they are still sitting on the Crimean Peninsula? Could it be, that the western financed community in the Ukraine is exactly that what you believe the russians are? If you are unable to argue with persons which have other opinions or views, then you will never find a place in the EU. Because arguing is part of democracy.

If you read the report correctly, then the answer is "No". In the report you find the line: было произведено поражение самолета МиГ-31 с борта другого истребителя того же полка. what means translated ino english: the MiG-31 aircraft was destroyed from the side of another fighter of the same regiment. Same regiment (squadron) does not mean wingman. I think there were multiple flights or pairs of MiG-31 in the area on different flight pathes (vectors). Only under that conditions a plane can be hit "from the side".

Um ... The fact is that on the eastern front even the SPAD-VII airplanes was only in single copies, while the SPAD-XII or -XIII was not at all. In the Russian Empire, the SPADs were of two types: 43 Blériot-built aircraft were delivered from February 1917 (however several aircraft were produced by SPAD). In August 1917 - February 1918 the Dux plant in Moscow under license produced another 63 SPAD-VII airplanes. But until the end of hostilities in the East, only a few French-built SPAD-VIIs were sent to combat units. For example, in the well-known 19th KAO, there were only three such aircraft, in the 1st, 2nd and 4th KAOs - one each. It is known that the airplanes built by Blériot, which arrived in Russia, had serial numbers from S14XX to S15XX, however at least one is known with a different number - S338 (it was made by SPAD, not Blériot). The Dux-built airplanes had numbers mainly S15XX.

Latest Spad XII data ini tweaks included below, also a nice ambient sound for aerodromes...uses the "TruckLoop" entry (simply drop the sound into your Sounds folder). Further reduced rolling coefficients for the Spad XII landing gear and improved elevator down movement slightly, for more realism during take-off...it still requires some dancing on the rudder but it should be slightly more manageable to bring the tail up now once you pass about 60-70 kph. The Spad XII was probably the most difficult of the Spad single-seaters to take off and land...only given to the best pilots. (Will roll all of this eventually into a ver. 10.0 of the FM update packs; included data ini has service dates for the eastern front...copy and paste over service dates for the western front from my relevant theater folders in the ver. 9.7 FM pack if you like - the eastern front used Spad XII types in small numbers, but no Spad XIII types were there, as far as I know - Crawford may pitch in with more details if necessary.) Happy flying, Von S EDIT: File removed, will be included in mini ver. 9.9 update of the FM pack under the relevant thread (this one).

F/A-18E/F Super Hornet from Wiki.... ****************************************************************** F/A-18E/F Super Hornet The Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a supersonic carrier-capable fighter/attack aircraft. The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a larger and more advanced derivative of the F/A-18C/D Hornet. The Super Hornet entered service with the United States Navy in 1999, replacing the F-14 Tomcat since 2006 and will serve alongside the original Hornet. The Super Hornet was ordered in 2007 by the Royal Australian Air Force to replace its aging F-111 fleet. Airframe changes. The forward fuselage is unchanged while the wing, center and aft fuselage, tail surfaces and power plants are new. The wing area of the Super Hornet is 25% larger. The fuselage was stretched to carry more fuel and room for future avionics upgrades. An engine with 35% more power, the General Electric F414, was developed from the Hornet's F404 to power this larger, heavier aircraft. The Super Hornet can return to an aircraft carrier with a larger load of unspent fuel and munitions than the original Hornet. The term for this ability is known as "bringback". Bringback for the Super Hornet is in excess of 9,000 pounds (4,000 kg). Other differences include rectangular intakes for the engines, a reduced radar cross section (RCS), two extra wing hard points for payload, and other aerodynamic changes. One of the most significant of which is the inclusion of significantly enlarged leading edge extensions (LEX) which provide improved vortex lifting characteristics in high angle of attack maneuver, and reduce the static stability margin to enhance pitching characteristics. This results in pitch rates in excess of 40 degrees per second.[ In the end, the Super Hornet shared little with earlier F/A-18s aft of the forward fuselage. The Super Hornet has 42% fewer structural parts than the original Hornet design.Flight characteristics include being highly departure resistant through its flight envelope, and having high angle-of-attack with care free flying qualities for combat and ease of training. Radar signature reduction measures Survivability is an important feature of the Super Hornet design. The US Navy says that a "balanced approach" to survivability was built in to the design. This means that it does not rely on low-observable technology such as stealth systems-to the exclusion of other survivability factors. Instead, its design incorporates a combination of stealth, advanced electronic-warfare capabilities, reduced ballistic vulnerability, the use of standoff weapons, and innovative tactics that cumulatively and collectively enhance the safety of the fighter and crew. The F/A-18E/F's radar cross section was reduced greatly from some aspects, mainly front and rear. The design of the engine inlets reduce the aircraft's forward sector radar cross section. The alignment of the leading edges of the engine inlets is designed to scatter radiation to the sides. Fixed fanlike reflecting structures in the inlet tunnel divert radar energy away from the rotating fan blades. The Super Hornet also makes considerable use of panel join serration and edge alignment. Considerable attention has been paid to the removal or filling of unnecessary surface join gaps and resonant cavities. Where the F/A-18A-D used grilles to cover various accessory exhaust and inlet ducts, the F/A-18E/F uses perforated panels that appear opaque to radar waves at the frequencies used. Careful attention has been paid to the alignment of many panel boundaries and edges, to scatter traveling waves away from the aircraft. It is claimed that the Super Hornet employs the most extensive radar cross section reduction measures of any contemporary fighter, other than the F-22 and planned F-35. While the F/A-18E/F is not a true stealth fighter like the F-22, it will have a frontal RCS an order of magnitude smaller than prior generation fighters. Avionics While there are some similar cockpit items of the original Hornet, the Super Hornet features a touch-sensitive, up-front control display; a larger, liquid crystal multipurpose color display; and a new engine fuel display. The Super Hornet has a quadruplex digital fly-by-wire system, as well as a digital flight-control system that detects and corrects for battle damage.Super Hornet production started with the APG-73 radar. The APG-79 AESA radar was introduced later (see the upgrade section below). The AN/ASQ-228 ATFLIR (Advanced Targeting Forward Looking InfraRed), is the main electro-optical sensor and laser designator pod for the Super Hornet. Defensive systems are coordinated through the Integrated Defensive Countermeasures system (IDECM). The IDECM system includes the ALE-47 countermeasures dispenser, the ALE-50 towed decoy, the AN/ALR-67(V)3 radar warning receiver, and the ALQ-165 Airborne Self-Protect Jammer (ASPJ). Aircrew have the ability to use night vision goggles (NVG) for Super Hornet operations which means the aircraft interior and exterior lighting are NVG compatible. And.......... First and most importantly, all credits go to 101tfs and Erwi_hans for original work. They gave us the Super Hornet and should be applauded for doing so. Nice work guys. So, this is what this update includes.... Changes in the DATA.ini file are the attachment position for the z-axis for stations 17,18,19,and 20. Previously, ordinances were resting a little bit too high into the pylon. I've also corrected the animation for the ailerons and the rudders so that they're not reversed anymore. LOADOUT.INI file explains how the loadouts work incase it was confusing for any of you. I also changed the loadout packages with different weapons. But you can change that to your own likeing. I've also added a launcher (see ReadMe) for AGMs. I think you'll like it. - serverandenforcer.
