3 pointsThey may work for the most part on Windows 10 but no versions of SF2 are supported on Windows 10. Basically that means if something changes in a windows update or a hardware driver no longer supports it then TK doesn't have to fix it and could let the game die. An update with DX12 and VR I would have thought would be the minimum selling point to get new people in. On the other hand he might have looked at the code again and had nightmares of the past and decided to not bother (wouldn't blame him!)

A FIESTA OF LATIN UH-1H HUEYS This will be the first in a series of uploads for the venerable and widely used UH-1H Huey. Included in this pack are examples from Latin America . They include Argentina , Bolivia, Brazil , Chile , Columbia, Domincan Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Uraguay, and finally Venezuela. I have tried to be as accurate as possible in my representations here, however, serial numbers etc in some cases WILL be speculative , I was going to include more civilian police versions, however most of them are all in pretty much the same colour schemes of the couple I have included, so I didn't bother, and I expect that most people dont actually fly civilian marked aircraft in SF 2 , of course in the Latin countries the Police and the military do, in a lot of cases fly joint missions. But anyway, I hope you enjoy the offerings I have brought to your respective tables !!! Included in the file are all the bits and bobs you need to make this bird fly, sound, weapons, crew decals etc. So there should be no difficiulties involved installing and flying Credit to Yakolev79 for his original model !! As always ENJOY !!! -
2 pointsalso nix either USSR or US for full employment in campaigns prior to 1992. the whole "if the superpowers publicly get caught fighting it will escalate" thing. not saying that the USSR wouldnt send new toys, and "technicians" to teach how to use them. but the equipment would have Parani markings to keep up appearances. Russia was too broke to offer much help in the 90s, prestige and influence didnt pay the bills in that time. Russia in the Putin era, game on. although as "mercenaries" like the Wagner Group, again not as Russian military. the game doesnt handle three way conflicts like Syria very well, and i dont think we can simulate vehicles ramming each other or aggresive intercepts without teh AI opening fire (again, still not desired in US/Russia interactions even in 2021) that said, a campaign where the US is embargoing Dhimar for whatever reason and the USSR is providing full support to Paran could be interesting

2 pointsOh how the Wildenrath crowd would have loved those! They were still on Frightning 2A's up to 1976 I think (Saw those on an early training det to Gutersloh in 1974. Discovered Jägermeister. Don't remember much else.. )

2 pointsDecided to make a mission over North Korea and usually the flak is all around my plane but this time i got hit with pretty severe damage over the DMZ... Lucky enough, plane was still barely controllable and allied airfield was in sight A bit overspeed on approach but that way the plane was less drifting and barely responsive to controls. Put the airbrakes out to slow down at last moment And landed the wounded plane back. Only to see on the debrief screen that my pilot died... He should have sh!t himself out after all :)

2 pointsWelcome to FE2 Dresam. The link Heck has provided is an excellent first-stop for info. on how to set up/install mods. for FE2 (and SF2) - since they both use essentially the same sim. engine. Main thing to keep in mind is that all mods. and user tweaks for FE2 go into the user directory for FE2 located in the "Saved Games" folder on Win7, Win10, etc., as follows: C:\Users\Yourusername\Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2 Further sub-folders and files located inside there are as follows (Options.ini controls graphics settings, sim. resolution, etc., by the way; to tweak joysticks/keyboard commands manually instead of through the main in-sim menu, open the ini file located inside "Controls"): The "Effects" and "Flight" sub-folders contain most of the effects, also cloud types etc. (clouds and similar tweaks go into the "Flight" folder); you will also notice a "Soundlist.ini" file in the various mod packs available for FE2 - the "Soundlist" file is also located/should be placed into the "Flight" folder, etc.). The specific sub-folder where most, but not all, installations take place (installation of new aircraft and similar things) is the one named "Objects." Inside "Objects" you will find the following folders - if you are missing some folders, as indicated in the good link that Heck has provided - create those folders and then follow installation instructions indicated per mod. package. Individual aircraft folders go into "Aircraft," for example, decals for aircraft (if decals folders are provided) go into "Decals," ground objects such as ships, balloons, trucks, staff cars, etc., go into "GroundObject," and so on and so forth - in 99% of cases, installation instructions are included in "Read Me" files contained in the mod. packages available. My FM mod. packages contain extensive instructions in their "Read Me" files. For example, to create sub-variants of aircraft types not available to download as actual aircraft mods., make a duplicate of the aircraft folder specified in my long installation instructions/files, rename the "new" aircraft folder as indicated in the relevant instructions, and then move over/replace the files inside the new aircraft folder with the files I have provided, etc. The main three rules to keep in mind: a) create folders that are missing and that you require for a mod. to work b) always install files into folders, replacing/copying files, rather than folders-over-folders, since many mod. packages (such as my FM tweaks) only provide the relevant, tweaked files necessary to install (and not all files, for example, required for a particular aircraft - for that you need to download the relevant aircraft package first, before copying over tweaked files) c) if any oddities emerge with the user directory of your FE2 installation, place the main directory ("C:\Users\Yourusername\Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2") onto your desktop, and then load FE2 again, so that a generic/stock user directory folder is re-created - and then begin the mod. installation process again Most mods. for FE2 can be found at this link: https://combatace.com/files/category/358-first-eagles-by-thirdwire/ Happy flying, Von S

SF2 WW2 ETO YB-40 Destroyer by Veltro2K -- Something for the WW2 ETO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = This is the release of the YB-40 by Veltro2k, an extensively modified B-17F that was experimentaly used by the 8th AF as an escort placed with regular B-17 formations. The aircraft depicted here were those 12 used by the 92nd Bombardment Group (H), 327th Bomb Squadron based at RAF Alconbury. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Serial numbers and plane-in-squadron letter are 100% historical and are matched to their proper aircraft. 2 skins are supplies; the only difference is one uses the early 'star-and-ball' (pre-Sept 43). The other uses the 'star-and-bar' (post-Sept 43). Both skins are Olive Drab over Neutral Gray. The aircraft has less than a one year service life, nearly approximating the Real World (tm) usage. When in-game, you'll see YB-40 Flying Fortress (v2k) on the aircraft selection drop-down list. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them BEFORE installing this mod!!!. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Happy Hunting! This is the newest version of the LODViewer. New features: -decal support -display of collision and pivot points -added transparency and wireframe display mode -user definable background color -view manipulation via keyboard -64 bit application -uses the OpenSceneGraph library and Qt 5.9.5 Install instructions: Extract the content of the zip package to a convenient location. The LODViewer depends on the Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 C++ libraries. If not already installed on the computer (e.g. by other applications) it has to be installed by running vcredist_x64.exe (you can find it in the redist subfolder of this package). Have fun! And report bugs Mue -
1 pointIt's a longway lookdown to the radar in the F-14, and I really got bored with the way you plough grooves in the sky, target four Phoenix missiles, get four kills, plough back to the carrier and land. However, I solved both problems with a cool trick. By accident. I dumped the F14.dll and went back to 70.dll in the F-14A.ini. Now I can hand off targets to my wingman, and I can individually target with a Phoenix up the spout, whilst getting target info. Supercool bit of luck - now the radar is where the eye-candy VDI used to be. Never saw the point of the VDI if you have a HUD. So now I can shortway look down to the radar, and still see out the HUD. That's a bingo! I just had to extend the TrackRange to 100 from 90 in the Avionics file. Anyway, works for me.

1 pointIndeed, it is initially more time-consuming (the flight sim. equivalent of a Linux distro. as I like to say sometimes) but the results are worth it once a fully-modded installation of FE2 is set up. The modding/tweaking part is probably one of the reasons FE2 never became as popular as ROF and WOFF - but many of us virtual fliers have a special relationship with FE2. I think that Heck posted accurately in one of the threads here that FE2 is like those old Bugs Bunny cartoons - difficult to hammer down properly but once everything is in place the sim. is very enjoyable and I think the sensation of flight created in it is one of the best there is in WW1 sims that are currently available. Good luck with your installation of FE2. If you have any questions post here and we will be happy to help you. Von S

1 pointAs far as I know Crawford, the Mar. 2012 update for SF2 is technically a "hotfix," not an update. It's available at the following link, but double-check the file for viruses once you download it. Have downloaded it to my Mac and it looks legitimate - a zip file that expands to an exe called "SF2_update_Mar2012_Hotfix." Link: https://www.gamepressure.com/download.asp?ID=38444 Alternate link: https://www.patches-scrolls.com/dl.php?file=sf2_hotfix_mar2012.zip Von S

1 pointStrange that TK didnt release sf2 complete on the steam yet. (With steam workshop support offcouse) Very strange. Many new and young players are not even aware of the existence of this game! And yes, sf2, thanks to low sys requirements in 4K VR could be an entrance ticket for those who cannot assemble a 5000$ pc with 2xRtx3090 sli for 4k DCS world/msFs but wants to fly in VR.

1 pointDepends on when you want to open that door. Via animation key or open due to some action. (Guess there is no animation linked to chaff/flare launch - I want to open chaff/flare bay on F-22 too...but. 1 pointFinally got an opportunity to put the Breguet 14 B.2 through its paces, and noting the excellent work on resurrecting this model by Wilches, VonS, Heck, and others, offer a few DATA.INI changes for your interest.
