4 pointsSo thanks to Crusader specially, but also Piecemeal, UllyB, Wrench, and Ravenclaw, I managed to pimp my ride and get a vector RWR on Mirage5SDE. Here seen attacking a California class cruiser, the vector is pretty useful to guide you since it tells you where the "radar love" comes from. I would have likely taken that little rascal from another ship Or the next one, splashing here.

2 pointsI'm working on a minor update. First: correcting the typo in folder Groundobjects, which must be Groundobject. Second: tactical numbers for the tanks, beginning with the german vehicles: Third: i try to mod the missionscontrol.ini file in a way, that the Hurricanes does not crash a half squadron while takeoff. Me-109 and Spitfire does not have this problem. Dont know why.

1 pointHave we ever discussed the posibility of setting up an integrated air defense system incorporating tech from both? It might be a more evident issue with the latest volley attacks out of Gaza, but I had been thinking about something like that for Seoul for a while.

Battle of Britain 2 Terrain Operation Seelöwe ***************************************************** This mod is made for SF2E. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. Battle of Britain 2 terrain Operation Seelöwe is a complete rework of my Battle of Britain terrain from 2009. It is completly new tiled, to give it a much better look. Each tile has now a size of 1024x1024 pixel, what is 4 times higher than in the old terrain. The terrain is made with "Operation Seelöwe" in mind. This operation was a german military plan from 1940 to land with strong forces on english soil. This operation was planed in a timeframe from summer till early autumn 1940. Thatswhy i made no seasoned tileset. To simulate the ground battles after the german invasion i set some german beachheads on the map, so that now CAS missions can be flown. The area of Londow along the river Themse is new tiled by using satellite images. To hold the frame rate of the game as high as possible, i made the rivertiles not as tga files, but as ordinary jpg files. Thatswhy you will not find waves and reflexions on the river Themse and the most other rivers in this terrain. The City of London is populated with house blocks. So is is destroyable by bomb raids. The airfields in Britain are made by using old air footages from WW2. The design of the german bases is fiction. I was not able to find air footages from 1940 for this airfields. Please make sure, that your bombers have the setting MinBaseSize=MEDIUM in their data.ini of the plane. Otherwise the bombers will also use fighter bases. At the moment Battle of Britain 2 terrain contains 312 target areas. Some target areas are named PQsomething. PQ comes from the german word "Planquadrat", which is in english "grid". I decided to use the term PQ to simulate german planningmaps. The terrain comes with two new nations. First the Luftwaffe of the Third Reich and the fictionary Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte of the Republic of Germany. Both nations have own insiginas, which you can select for single missions. The swastika i made only in a "camouflaged" version, because in Germany it is not allowed to handle this symbol in a game. I have also moded the missioncontrol.ini file. Now the planes are closer to their base when they start a landing approach. The terrain comes with 3 campaigns. No.1 is Operation Seelöwe, the german invasion in Britain in late summer 1940 No.2 is the so called Nonstop Offensive, the british air strikes over the Channel in 1941 No.3 is Operation Seelöwe in 1956 with a fiction Republic of Germany as invader. For the campaigns you need following planes: BF109E-4 by RussoUK https://combatace.com/files/file/14035-bf109e-47z/ Ju-88A-1 by Veltro2k https://combatace.com/files/file/15445-junkers-ju-88-a1/ Do-17P by Veltro2k https://combatace.com/files/file/15196-dornier-do-17p/ Spitfire Mk.1 by TMF https://combatace.com/files/file/13510-sf2-ww2-spitfire-mk1a-by-mod-mafiatmf/ Hurricane IA by Raven https://combatace.com/files/file/13646-sf2-ww2-hawker-hurricane-ia-etobob-by-raven/ WW2 RAF Bombers pack by Wrench https://combatace.com/files/file/13795-sf2-ww2-raf-bombers-pak/ For the german 1956 campaign you need a MiG-17 cockpit The best is made by Stary https://combatace.com/files/file/12684-mig-15-mig-15-bis-mig-17-cockpit/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. CREDITS: While making Battle of Britain 2 terrain i used a lot of files made by other modders. Thanks for this files! The tileset is basing on Jan Tumas tileset for First Eagles The most tod files are made by me, but i also used files made by Stary. The white cliffs objects are made by GKABS. The airfield objects are made by Geezer. Some hangars are taken from AirfieldDevKit_v1.1 The Robinson hangars are made by RussoUK2004 The industrial factories are made by Geezer. The fortification objects are made by Geezer. The cargoships which you find in London Docks are made by Nils 'Julhelm' Dücker I hope that have nobody forgotten. ---------------------------------------------------------- III. INSTALLATION: -Unzip the folders into your SF2 mod folder ---------------------------------------------------------- IV. For remarks, comments, bugs, etc please use the forum or send me a PM. ------------------------------------------------------------- V. Battle of Britain 2 terrain Operation Seelöwe and all of his parts are FREEWARE. COMMERCIAL USE IS NOT ALLOWED! ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ Hope you enjoy it. McDonnell Douglas F-4S 'COAN' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the F-4S by 'The Mirage Factory' to give a fictional Phantom F-4S 'COAN' as it might have appeared in service with the Comando de Aviación Naval Argentina during the 1980-2010 timeline. Also included are three fictional Argentine aircraft carriers; the ARA Bernardino Rivadavia (V-3), the ARA Hippolyte Bouchard (V-4) and the ARA Guillermo Brown (V-5). INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-4S_COAN folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4S_COAN folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the GROUND OBJECTS folder drag and drop all three folders into your Ground Objects folder.* 4. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_COAN into your Pilots folder. 5. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop both folders into your Weapons folder. * You'll really need to add 'ArgentineNavy' to the limited nations section of the ICELANDNA_NATIONS data.ini (which you'll need to extract). Doing this yourself will allow you to align the Argentine Navy to a 'colour' of your choice. CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to 'The Mirage Factory' for permission to modify the F-4S and also to Sundowner for the F-4S templates which really helped in adapting the Third Wire F-4J skins to fit. Thanks to Ravenclaw007 for the AM39 Exocet missile - as soon as I saw the textures I knew who to thank! Thanks also to the creator of the AR_BRP_250-Kappa_E bomb. It's been in my install for ages but I honestly don't know who to thank. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - May 22nd, 2021. -
1 pointAttention Pilots! It is our pleasure to announce some new Collector Planes for the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles series! We are still waist deep in Battle of Normandy and Flying Circus Vol. II development, but we have decided to push on with our partner Ugra Media and bring you a few more iconic and important aircraft! The following planes have long been discussed as possible projects or desired by community members and now we are able to make the commitment to build them. So, without further delay here they are. - C-47A Skytrain - Lisouov Li-2 (Soviet version of the DC-3/C-47) - Sopwith Snipe 7.F1 - Siemens-Schuckert D.IV First, let’s cover the C-47A. We already have the C-47A as an AI piloted aircraft in Great Battles. Many of you have requested that we make a cockpit for it and make it flyable, so we are. This will give the Americans and British a cargo plane, much like the Ju-52 on the German side. The Ju52 has been a good seller for us and a unique experience for fans of IL-2. We want to do the same with the C-47. The C-47 is the military version of the venerable Douglas DC-3 which first took flight in the 1930’s and served all over the world during WWII and very far beyond. Most notably it was the main troop transport for American and British paratroopers during the invasion of Normandy. As you have seen in an earlier Developer Diary, we have already built some awesome looking U.S. Army paratroopers that will jump from C-47s in BON. We are also making British paratrooper models as well., but they are not ready to be shown yet. The C-47 will provide a great new way to fly for the Allies. Work on the C-47 cockpit has already begun so we have decided to open Pre-Orders today as is our tradition for new Collector Planes in development. Please show the ‘Gooney Bird” your love! Pre-Order is available in the IL-2 Official Webstore for just $19.99- a 20% discount off MSRP. Second, let’s talk briefly about the Lisunov Li-2. The Li-2 was a license-built Soviet version of the DC-3/C-47. It served bravely over the Eastern Front with the VVS and was even used as a bomber by the Soviets. Although it is seemingly identical to the C-47 it does have several differences, so extra work is needed to convert our C-47 into an Li-2. Our partners Ugra Media will begin this work once the C-47 cockpit is well in-hand. The Li-2 had different engines and cowlings, different instruments, a different cargo door and other small changes. Some also had a dorsal mounted gun turret for self-defense. The Li-2 will be a welcome addition to our Eastern Front themed titles. We will offer the Li-2 for Pre-Order as soon as work has officially begun in earnest. The C-47/Li-2 holds a special place for us because it represents cooperation between the old Soviet Union and the USA, which for a team of Russian developers and an American producer is a historical metaphor for our own team. Next, we will also partner with Ugra Media to create the British-built Sopwith Snipe 7.F1 fighter. The Snipe was a late entrant into the Great War, only coming to front-line service in the Summer of 1918. However, it was a successful aircraft and helped the Entente fight off the of the terrific late-war German designs in the final months and weeks of the war. The Snipe will be the first truly new WWI aircraft we committed to in a long time and this will bring a new combat experience to Flying Circus Volumes II and III. Pre-orders will be available once the Snipe has entered production. Finally, Ugra Media will build a late-war German fighter as well – that being the Siemens-Schuckert D.IV. Like the Snipe it entered the war late, but was a terrific design and will be a deadly opponent for the Snipe and other Entente fighters. This plane will be a challenge to make as references are tough to come by and we don’t believe any original examples survive today. However, we love a good challenge and plan to make this bird take flight just like all the rest. It’s interesting to see the similarities of the Snipe and SS.DIV designs with their compact bodies which we would image makes them quite maneuverable. When work begins, we will give you a change to pre-order the SS.DIV. All of these new planes do not have an impact on current development timelines for BON or FC2 and FC3 as we have been planning to make these aircraft for a while. We will work once again with our long-time partner Ugra Media to bring them to life in another team effort, much like we did for the famous U-2VS. We hope you enjoyed hearing this news and we look forward to bringing these fantastic aircraft to the Great Battles series! See you in the skies! The Sturmovik Team and Ugra Media

1 pointData ini - make sure that the DetectSystem section has the line HasRWR=TRUE And the Freq min/Max values for your rwr I moved your inis (renamed) into the IIIEL, made the changes to the RWR texture like described in my other post, and modified the DetectSystem. Result is a complete RWR.

1 pointHi all, I've created MODs to change the menu music in WOFF. There is a German version which is now on Sandbaggers site here https://thatoneplease.co/WOFF.html The mod replaces the 'MenuMusic' files with various marches, songs and speeches from WW1 for a bit of added immersion. No other sound files are changed. British and French mods will be available very soon and I'm creating an American one too. Enjoy Albert

1 pointi wont claim to monitor it, it just pops up in my FB feed all the time. hunted thru several articles to find the info in that one (ok 30 second scanning for the info desired)

1 pointThanks for the info, I was aware of it as I monitor THE DRIVE also. Will have to wait and see if any more registrations are declared !
-
1 pointonly if you want the visible gauge. otherwise, you can have the simple "audio only" that just beeps when scanned, and goes to a higher PRF when you're locked up. And you should probably use the vector type; i don't know of any real aircraft that use the SF1 style "3 ring" (although there probably were ....) === when I added the RWR to the F-104G cockpit, I just told the cockpit ini to use the secondary ADI face... now if I can just find which mods folder HAS that modded one ....
-
1 pointBeen looking around, but I can't find any source with citations that mentions these two as knowing each other, or any of the other pilots you mentioned. The only cited sources I can find say she learned at the Caudron School in France. Also, I find no source that mentions Bullard being involved in aviation at the time she was learning to fly, he had become a jazz musician, and was trying to acquire a bistro.
-
1 pointSo, to have a working RWR to an aircraft cockpit that misses exactly that you need to do this: - find a convenient board instrument to be replaced by your RWR - you must modify in cockpit.ini the lines for that change I mentioned above. - in avionics.ini, just copy a modern aircraft RWR section (not the audio one only). if you want to be historical accurate, replace from an old F-4. Pay attention what AvionicsXX.dll that aircraft uses also.

1 pointThanks once more Ludo for presenting us with such great Mirages Mods in general. It's very much appreciated I've been and still am a Mirage III lover since the early 70th's. Of course, i also love the Mirage F-1 The Mirage IIIC is one of those jets that looks like it’s going Mach 2 even when it’s parked. The picture shows Elie Buge in a Mirage III CZ Elie Buge decided to join the French Air Force. In the spring of 1941, he set off for Châteauroux, which was then in the Free Zone, where he stayed for several months before embarking on a series of experiences abroad. He spent time in French-speaking North Africa (Morocco and Algeria) and then in the USA in 1943, where he obtained his fighter pilot’s license. From there, Elie Buge went to England, where he was assigned to the 145th Wing of the Royal Air Force. At the end of World War II, he transferred from his squadron based in Germany to the second fighter squadron in Dijon.

Mirage F1CK2 This mod is dedicated to BPAO, nothing would have been possible without him. In 1974 the Mirage F1 was selected as the new air defence fighter and a total of 27 Mirage F1CK, 9 Mirage F1CK2 and 7 Mirage F1BK were ordered and delivered in two separate batches until 1983. Specificities : Radar Cyrano IVM. RWR. A big thank to all on Combatace and C6 forums that helped us solving issues we encountered. Any omission in credits is totally unwanted, if I forgot somebody, let me know, I will correct this. This addon is and will in all cases remain freeware. Released under CombatAce Fair-Use terms. Enjoy The Mirage F.1 Team -
1 pointHi all, a new update for WOFF to V1.12 is now available. Version 1.12 24 May 2021 1) Fixed a ground unit collision avoidance issue for aircraft that are Going Home or RTB. 2) Removed some Telephone poles from a/g_generic_3 type Airfield facilities that would sometimes cause a collision avoidance issue with landing aircraft. Please see our Website for details. Thanks to AlbertTross for the image!
