4 pointsIf you've ever supported the When Thunder Rolled Project in anyway, first again accept my sincere appreciation and gratitude. I would ask that you please email me with your contributions list and an upcoming announcement at: admin@whenthunderrolled.com . If you're still interested in contributing in some way, we welcome and encourage you to reach out. Just to avoid any misguided speculation, this request is not implying any near-term release date. Thanks again, here's a good blast of early 2Q 2019 WTR screenies that are long overdue...hope you enjoy.

3 pointsThere is NO mission editor in ANY of the 1stGen games (SFp1/Wo*). What JosefK was referring to was SF2, which does. So, disregard that post completly. As I said in my post, all you can do is save the mission, and then edit it by hand in notepad. That is it.

3 pointsWrench, I am aware of the availability of that spitfire VIII. Much appreciated! Nevermind why I do what I do anyways. Amariani. This is a strange node transplant mod like Avia S-99 flaps fix. I don't know how to share it yet. In case of interest PM me for instructions. Screenshot thread, sorry I am not home yet to grab one... Fixed! (Waterworld - Dryland oil refinery - Strike)

This is a "stand-in" Seafire FR Mk. 47 modded from Thirdwire's Spitfire Mk. 24. The skin in is .jpg format and 512 x 512 resolution. It includes a new SPITFIRE24_PROP_SLOW.TGA showing 5-blade propeller instead of the stock 4-blade prop. Also included is Stary's late mark Spitfire cockpit. You will need the DLC #29 to get the late marks Spitfires before you install this mod. Thanks to Thirdwire for the original Spitfire 3-D model. Have fun! A. Mariani -

This is an old application that was written for .net 1.1, but I have used the built in .net compatibility tool to make it compatible with more recent versions which allows it to run on Window 7 64-bit and Windows 10 64-bit OS. I have also included the profile editor that was released before the host website shut down. Shoot can be buggy at times, but closing the application and restarting gets it working well again. -
1 pointI am sick and tired of working with 3D studio 2009 because it doesn't really support DirectX 10. 3-views look all blurry and paint looks like a first grader who needs glasses did it.... I have the 2011 version ,but of course the TW exporter is not compatible. and I might as well blow smoke up my butt before TW does an upgrade....a bit frustrating

1 point1983 is the default 'end date' for all the 1stGens No, you cannot take off or land on carriers in single missions in ANY of them. To start with, carriers are only available in WoV (wings over vietnam), and only in campaigns. Another of the reasons that SF/Wo* are deader than a door nail

1 point@rwatson Check your messages. I invited you to join a PM thread that has just about everything needed to get a WWII ETO install started. I made it to help out another player with this same issue. It has been five years since I put in together so a lot of mods have come out since but it should still give you a good starting point.

1 pointHello russouk, I just wanted to correct what you stated if you don't mind me doing so. you can only use max 2010 to save as 2009 but anything above that can only save three down for example 2014 can save as 2013, 2012, 2011. with the exception for 2011 cant save down.

1 pointHave a look through the knowledge Base first (https://combatace.com/forums/forum/99-thirdwire-strike-fighters-knowledge-base/) that'll get you acquainted with the nuances of editing the game. It can seem a little intimidating at first, but once you understand how the game operates, the file structure, where to place assets, etc, you'll find it's quite easy to alter. If landing on a carrier in a campaign is what you're aiming for (can't do it in a skirmish as far as I'm aware, sorry), then there's a specific section for that (https://combatace.com/forums/forum/190-adding-carriers-to-campaigns/) but again, it'll be fairly useless to go straight there if you don't know how to mod campaigns. But that is covered in the link to the knowledge Base. If you want to fight modern day fighters instead of early gen Red air, there's a relatively simple way to do that: install the aircraft as instructed in their readme files or as described in the Knowledge base, then go into the game's main folder (where the game's .exe is located). There should be a file called 'options.ini'. Make sure it's not set to 'read only'. Open it, then scroll down until you get to a subsection called [SingleMission]. It should look like this: [SingleMission] AircraftType=RAN FB-117A MissionMap=BOWL MissionType=STRIKE MissionTime=DAWN MissionWeather=SCATTERED AirActivity=LIGHT AirDefenseActivity=NORMAL LoadMission=FALSE LoadMissionFilename= MissionYear=1998 StartYear=1934 EndYear=2025 <<------------------------------------ Edit the year. Yours will likely be the default 'EndYear' which I think is in the 70s. Service=Australia You're going to want to edit the 'EndYear=' part. I usually change it to 2060 or higher. Now save the file. When you start the game, you should be able to select the year in the Single Mission menu to any time up to the year you changed it to. Any fighters that are available in the year you choose should be both available to fly with, or against. Whether or not enemy aircraft will be armed with any external loads will depend on if you have a weapons pack mod installed, or if the aircraft's loadout files use the default weapons names (ie AA-8, AA-9, AA-10, etc), or weapons pack designations (R-27, R-73, R-77, etc)***. My guess is that they probably won't have any weapons other than their guns, possibly not even those. Again, this will make sense if you read through the Knowledge Base section on adding weapons, or editing aircraft loadouts. Give the KB a read and have a play with it, and you'll figure out how the sim works pretty quickly. (***I should stress that, given this game is set in the 1950s to late 1970s period, you won't see modern missiles or basically anything made after 1970s without installing a weapons pack.)

1 pointIf you set the material editor to "Hardware Display with Maps" it should make it smoother and clearer. Look at the difference in the 2 screenshots provided. Using 3D Max 2009. 1 with a standard display with maps which looks like you described lol. But if you set it like how I explained it should be better. You'll see more details/get better results. Another example

T-67 main battle tank (standard tank) (What if) ************************************************************* This mod is made for SF2. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. History What if the soviets would have introduced the Object 167 into service? Object 167 was the successor of the T-62 (object 166) with a new suspension system (was later used on T-72) and a new turbo diesel engine with 700 hp instead 580 hp in T-62. Top speed of the tank was 65 km/h on road, 40 cross country. Range around 450 km. So it was comparable with a Leopard 1 tank, but had a much better armour. There were some versions of object 167. One with gas turbine (helicopter engine), one with 100mm gun D-54TS (comparable with britisch L-7 gun) and one with 115mm smoothbore gun and ATGM Maljutka (AT-2 Sagger) The T-67, i present you here, is the version of object 167 with the D-54TS 100 mm gun. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. CREDITS: The LOD file is made: ~~~~~~~~~~ by TK The skin based on: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TK's stock skin, modified by me. Implementation of tactical numbers and insignias on the turret are mady by me. The data.ini is made : ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ by TK and modded by me ---------------------------------------------------------- III. INSTALLATION: -Unzip the folders into your object folder ---------------------------------------------------------- IV. For remarks, comments, bugs, etc please use the forum or send me a PM. ------------------------------------------------------------- V. The T-67 are FREEWARE. COMMERCIAL USE IS NOT ALLOWED! The additionally parts are NOT FREEWARE. Please check the readme of that files. ------------------------------------------------------ Hope you enjoy it. Michael (Gepard) Made in Germany July 2019 -

Hello SF2 Flyers, For the post-WW2 prop. high-performance aircraft, several tweaks have been applied to the data inis, ranging from lift values for wings and wing tips to the engine section, prop. rpms, flight control section, gears section, flaps, also empty weight, inertia values, ceilings, engine sounds, rudder reversal effect fix, aileron/elevator/rudder sensitivity and movement, etc., depending on the type tweaked. Tweaks are not as extensive as for my FE2 work - but I've tried to get them into the "90% realistic enough" category for SF2 since these high-performance types are difficult to precision peg to within a km or two of historical stats., in contrast to the slower-moving FE2 types. Also included with this package are my minor data ini tweaks for several Flogger types, such as the MiG-23 S, early M, ML, P, MLA, late variant "98," and export variants MF and MS. Many thanks to the original FM modders for the late prop. types, including Baffmeister, Wrench, Cocas, MontyCZ, Charles of A-Team, Coupi, Paolopanz, and others I may not have mentioned here. The data inis are for SF2 installs only, tested at hard FM settings (no guarantees that the AI can land them nicely, although they fly them just fine). The Me109 G5 and H0 are variants on the stock G10 package provided on CombatAce (to install simply copy the relevant aircraft folders, rename as per my included folders, and drop in the relevant files). P-47 Sprint upgrades are variants on the ETO P-47D Bubbletop model and PTO P-47D Razorback model. Also included with this package are three sounds for a Pratt-Whitney, Centaurus, and Me109 either Benz or Hisso powered (sound works good for both). Links to the relevant aircraft that correspond with these data ini tweaks are located in the included "Read Me" file with the package. Please go through the Read Me for more thorough info. regarding these FM tweaks. Version 1.2 of this package includes the P-47N and improves the data inis for the other Jug and Superbolt variants. Happy flying, Von S DISCLAIMER: All Von S mods, for FE2, SF2, also WOFFue, are subject to the CombatAce "freeware" terms of agreement. Mods may be shared with others, included on other media devices, also modded further, providing that original documentation and/or credit is included, and providing that the mods remain free to use. Von S mods shall not be sold, resold, etc., and Von S takes no responsibility for injuries or fixations that may result from flying heavily tweaked FMs or from attempts to enjoy real flying without aid or instruction from a qualified flight instructor. -

This is total pack of MiG-21 used by Polish Air Force. Polish Fishbeds version F-13, PF, PFM, M, MF, bis and R. Pack is not including two seaters U, US and UM. Unfortunately. First of all this is huge pack due to skins and decals.. after unpakcing it is little above 1GB. Pack is using standard TW models and full merged instal is recomended. All skins are based on great templates by.comrad. http://combatace.com/files/file/14482-mig-21-mfsm-temps/ Ive made few changes to PF/PFM and F-13 models. INI files are borrowed from MiG-21 Complete pack by ataribaby - http://combatace.com/files/file/9488-mig-21-complete-pack-sf2-18/ FM is (i think) medium setings from Fubar512 settings. Cockpits and avionics are from Paladrian MiG-21 set All aircrafts have additional avionics and cockpit ini files for easy way (ccip etc) I have edited data ini files as follows: All aircrafts have nation set to Poland. All aircrafts have edited weaponstations by weight and diameter limits and specific station code. I've separated stations for irm, bombs, fuel tanks etc. So bombs do not apear on missile launchers, also ive corrected some weight limits. Ive added all weapons moded / required for this pack. Exept for: GP-9,PTB-800S MiG-21 Center pylon. although GP-9 have new skin. All Air to Air weapons are adited to work only with this pack. So not all weapons can be loaded. Ive set only those A2A weapons as used by Polish Air Force. R-13 Rockets can be fired only by MiG-21bis. R-3R can be carried only by MiG-21bis due to RP-22 radar. R-60 shouldn't be carried by F-13 but it makes mess with editing. so somehow its possible to load. As for air-ground weapons it uses standard weapons like OFABs, FABs, ZABs, UB-series rocket pods etc. Fake Pilot mod is required to have proper MiG-21R. (althought Polish R had periscopes on canopy instaled) New skin for GP-9 gun pod. for PF model. GP-9 for PFM model is separated and is loaded as gun pod. Node is part of aircraft. New PTB-490 fuel tank. PTB-800 fuel tank is like in other available packs - can be carried by some late Polish MiGs. MiG-21bis and MiG-21MF /96A00/ can carry SPS-141Je pod (as addon to ECM pod you can (should) load ASO-2I-E7P decoy dispenser - it is part of SPS in real) RS-2US is main "unfortunate" air to air weapon for all early models exept F-13 (it has no radar) and bis (it has RP-22 radar and can fire R-3R) Reco pod as same as in other pack available before - new skin for D type pod. All weapon loadout.ini files are much "what if" as Polish Air Force never operated MiG-21 in any coinflict. New PTB-490 and SPS-141Je are made by me. Models MiG-21F-13 /model-74/ - first delivered to Polish Air Force Fishbed. 25 delivered. MiG-21PF /model 76/ - 84 delivered between 1964-1966. MiG-21PFM /model-94A/ - 120 delivered between 1964-1969. MiG-21PFM (N) /model-94N/ - 12 delivered, capable of delivering special bomb. It was equipped with different center pylon allowing ot carry tactical nukes. later downgraded to PFM standard. MiG-21R /model-94R/ - 36 delivered between 1968-1972. MiG-21M /model-96/ - 36 delivered between 1968-1971. MiG-21MF /model-96A/ - 100 deliverd between 1971-1974. MiG-21MF /model-96A00/ - 20 delivered in 1995. Long history behind this aircrafts. In short - all aircrafts were supposed for different country with ongoing war...delivered to Poland small diferences in avionics - capable to carry SPS-141Je Siren electronic countermeasure station. MiG-21bis /model-75A/ - 72 delivered between 1980-1982. Only Fishbed with R-13 engine and RP-22 radar station. All skins are as jpg 2048x2048 format. With national markings painted. (different insignia for aircrafts up to 1993) and new one 1993 onward. All decals are made by me and are historicaly correct and matched to specific units and service year. Polish MiGs were transfered from unit to unit (sometiems only virtualy) so its is also big mess with serial numbers. Also somewhere in mid 80s it was allowed to pint squadron insignia on airframe. when aircraft was transfered to new unit it usualty retained old squadron insignia.. in 90s some aircrafts got insignia of 3 diferent units... Polish MiG were silver/grey and not much color here. Although few were wearing special paintjobs. And those are also included (few of them). During maintenace aicrafts received some paint using some different shades of grey...but here all are silver grey. Al Polish MiGs-21 when delivered were equipped with R-11 engine and RP-21 station exept MiG-21 bis model - equipped with R-13 engine and newer RP-22 radar station. Pack also uses: KV-1 seat by AmokFloo Weapons ravenclaw and others from CA. PBP-2-3S Monsun rack by logan4 MBD2 - bomb rack by Snailman. Pilots by TheTrooper. Repainted and renamed. SPO-3 pod for MiG-21R by Spillone104 All credits and hails to creator of reco pods! Also all credits to creators of other stuff that I forot to mention. Again all credits to you guys who made this game so good after years. Thanks for yours work, report bugs and missing files. Jarek Hereda. -
