I was looking on website about a recent news events and the ads caught my eye. I had no idea the A-10 was such a versatile aircraft. I knew it was designed to turn tanks to Swiss Cheese. But to be used as an air ambulance?

Just had to pause, because for a moment this looked like pretty good framing. Looking left from an F-106, over Haiphong, at the MiG-17s my wingman and i had just shot down with AIM-4Fs durign a sweep, while B-57s hit the docks. I wish i paused it just a couple of frames earlier when the bombs were going off in the background.

Definitely. I already have a Discord account and I just entered the server. This was unexpected, in a very good way. Discord is powerful for indie developers. Project Wingman, an arcade flight combat game, uses Discord to maintain fans updated about further developments etc. You can find lots of other examples as well. I feel a little guilty, for years I (and many others) complained about TK not listening to his true fanbase. This might change things for the better. Good move from him, I totally support this endeavor.

That's what we did for the recent ODS mod, hence SA-8s appear often, the Iraqis had quite a number of them. Still, we have two models of it with different characteristics and missiles, the most deadly can be put to Mobile_SAM so that it appears only during CAS missions. Other related news to ODS, the Desert Storm campaign was overly long due to some wrong assumptions I made about number of sorties and usual length of a pilot's tour of duty. In the next update the campaign will progress much faster, so it should be a bit easier to survive through it.

I've felt this way about many planes over the years. First I don't care much for the planes but when I begin flying them I learn a new respect and admiration for them. Currently for me it's the MiG-15. I didn't hate the plane over the years, just didn't pay much attention to it except to know it was at first the foil for the F-86 Sabre in Korea. I have MiG-15s in SF1, SF2, CFS2, FSX/MSF 2004, and IL2. I love flying this little bird. I drool over the DCS MiG-15 and F-86. Might get them, but wish there was a full Korean Air War install for DCS. Recently I repainted Pasko's old SF1 MiG-15 and even with the repainted modified A-4B cockpit simulating the MiG-15 cockpit, I still enjoy flying this old plane. Always some new plane to get to know and enjoy.

The extra seat and controls added only 30 cm (12 in) to the length of the fuselage, but at the cost of less internal fuel capacity and the loss of the internal cannon. The efforts of modders are bringing DCS World closer to being able to replace SF2 as the best simulation of the Vietnam air war. The free A-4E Skyhawk mod I posted about earlier has continued to improve. It now has an accurate external flight model, supports basic radio operation, and can perform mid-air refueling as well as having 100% compatibility with carrier operations. Some of the other mods are not as ambitious and rely on old tricks like borrowing Flaming Cliffs functionality, but still look quite impressive. Right now, anyone can download the free A-4E and join the Vietnam server for some great missions. If you own the modules you can also fly the F-5E, UH-1, C-101 (standing in for A-37 Dragonfly), P-51D, and P-47D (both props standing in for the A-1 Skyraider). Previously the MiG-21, MiG-19, and MiG-15 were available, but the host decided to get rid of the PvP option as he much prefers a co-op environment. Take a look at what is currently possible:

The empty weight increased by 200 kg (440 lb), partly due to the addition of two Martin-Baker Mk 10 zero-zero ejection seats. Aircrafts 4609 to 4614 came into service in 1988 and later.
