The Potez 540 was a French multi-role aircraft of the 1930s. Designed and built by Potez, it served with the French Air Force as a reconnaissance bomber, also serving with the Spanish Republican Air Force during the Spanish Civil War. Although obsolete as a bomber, it remained in service in support roles and in France's overseas colonies at the start of World War II. 3D Model (Veltro2k) Textures and FM (Charles) Cockpit (Kesselbrut) Best Sim : Thirdwire unzip ad folders to their appropiate places...have fun THIS MODEL IS ONLY TO BE DISTRIBUTED AS FREEWARE AND IN NO OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE SHALL IT BE USED, EVEN IN PART OF ANYTHING THAT IS PAYWARE. Carrier Deck Illumination Beta 1.0 Effects and .ini work: MiGbuster and Fubar512 Placement: MiGbuster Technical Consultant: SidDogg This mod DOES NOT contain the carrier models. It requires that you have Sf2V and/or SF2NA, and preferably both, installed on your system. The SCB-125 and CVA-63 models are native to SF2V. They are also included in SF2NA, which adds the CVN-68. We have included files for all three types. To install: Simply drag the contents of the zip file, which are the two folders, "effects and groundobject", into the mod (saved games) folder of the desired title. For example, using SF2NA, the default path would be "YOUR NAME/Saved Games/Thirdwire/StrikeFighters2NorthAtlantic" Note that this is a Beta, a work in progress, and as such, it is not perfect. Deck illumination is on all the time. The Optical Landing System is not-functional. These are currently due to the limitations of the series. -
1 pointIf you've ever supported the When Thunder Rolled Project in anyway, first again accept my sincere appreciation and gratitude. I would ask that you please email me with your contributions list and an upcoming announcement at: admin@whenthunderrolled.com . If you're still interested in contributing in some way, we welcome and encourage you to reach out. Just to avoid any misguided speculation, this request is not implying any near-term release date. Thanks again, here's a good blast of early 2Q 2019 WTR screenies that are long overdue...hope you enjoy.

F-4B Phantom II, VMFA-58 "Wildcards" Skin/Decal set (A "What If.." skin) = For SF2, any/all versions with access to the F-4B Phantom, merged or not = A complete rebuild of my "What If..." Phantom skin from 2006. This is a reskinning and redecaling of the stock, plane-jane F-4B (no year suffix), using Sundowner's templates (what a masterpiece!!!). New serial numbers and all new BuNum decals have been created. BuNums ARE 100% accurate, in that they are for F-4Bs. Since this is a fantasy skin ... they're purly there for looks. Many new decals, for crew names have been created and added to the canopy rails (these are characters and production staff from the Space: Above and Beyond TV show, with a few 'just for funs' thrown in). What is unusual for me, is the fact that most of the generic national/service markings are painted on, as opposed to my prefrence for decals. This was done to "open up" some meshes for other decals, thereby greating imporving the historical "look", and accuracy (!), of the aircraft. This skin/decal set is perfectly usable for ANY of the other F-4Bs (F-4B_65 and F-4B_67), and possibly even the F-4J. Renaming of the skin bmps will be required for use on the other aircraft, however, but their mapping is identical (this =HAS= been tested!). See below for more details & instructions. The skins are 2048x2048, so users with older, slower machines may need to resize them down one step to 1024; expect some detail loss, but they're still quite beautiful, even at the the smaller size. NOTE: I've supplied 2 different _1.bmps for use. The one being used right now has the ship name "USS SARATOGA"* above the squadron name. If you do not wish to use that, use the 'no-ship-name_F-4B_1.bmp'. Instructions for switching are in the 'To Install' section below. Included as well are modified data and loadout inis; the data ini has a new landing light added and the canopy activated via a manual animation key. Use Shift/0 to open and close it. The loadout ini removes the non-existant reconpod, from RECON missions, and replaces it with the 600 gallon tank. All other loads remain stock. The landing gear's RollingRadius has also been adjusted, as I've gotten sick and tired of the 'flat tire' look. The numbers I used can also be used on all the other Phantoms. Other improvements are some additional armor over vital internals. No other changes have been made. * the SARA was the space carrier The Wildcards was assigned to in the TV show; just keeping continuity <grin> As always, detailed, step-by-step install instruction are in the enclosed Readme. It's required you actually read it ... Good Hunting and Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein -

1 pointAFAIK that YAP add-on is for WOV, hence why it's worse than usual, they did not use your re-release for SF2, but an older version of the terrain, I guess. Still, this does not make them less guilty. As you said, for users it's better to download and use what CombatACE has to offer. It's greater quality stuff, for free! About the _HM bitmaps, I am of the opinion that it's way better not to use them at all, given that the heightmap is properly done that is. In my 250m resolution heightmaps, I am extra careful about flattening sea areas, coastlines and airbases. Without _HM bitmaps, the terrain is all in its HFD glory, so to speak.

1 pointHere is the info of the YAP SOH Terrain Data. I will see if I can flatten some of the runways on Wrench's Iran-IraqWA terrain. Only want to flatten run ways on flat ground and make some inactive. I am on the night shift this swing and may have a chance to get some done [Texture002] Filename=sea2desert25.TGA HasWater=1 HeightMap=sea2desert25_hm.BMP HeightMapScale=2.000500 Color=0.505483,0.471180,0.410264 SolidObjectTexture=terobject_buildings1.BMP AlphaObjectTexture=terobject_trees1.TGA [Texture003] Filename=sea2desert50.TGA HasWater=1 HeightMap=sea2desert50_hm.BMP HeightMapScale=2.000500 Color=0.674493,0.583993,0.448464 SolidObjectTexture=terobject_buildings1.BMP AlphaObjectTexture=terobject_trees1.TGA Here is a runway from Iran-IraqWA. I am still doing some adjustments to the Neutral, Friendly, and enemy bases. I need to flatten this Airbase

1 pointI called that out when it was first released. Fully examined it when I got my copy of "their" PG mod. To make matters worse, the YAP PG terrain is completly stripped of ANYTHING usefull on land. Truly fucking pathetic. Better off using my version of Gepard's terrain; at least there stuff ALL OVER (both sides) to zap. Again, out of curisoity, what height specs are they using on their tiles? Showing one of the transitions below: [Texture002] Filename=sea2desert25.TGA HasWater=1 HeightMap=sea2desert25_hm.BMP HeightMapScale=2.000000 Color=0.505483,0.471180,0.410264 SolidObjectTexture=terobject_buildings1.BMP AlphaObjectTexture=terobject_trees1.TGA Long ago, we discovered that many (including some original 1stGen stock maps) have that set to 25!! You can try editing the data ini --MAKE A BACKUP COPY FIRST!!!!!-- do a "Search & Replace" and drop them down to 2 meters. (the above tile statements comes right out of the version I did.) I don't have access right off the bat to my YAP version, as it's archived on one of my external HDs, otherwise I'd cross check it. And I COMPLETLY agree about the TE in airfield flattening -- don't even think about using it near or on a mountain!! Screws up this horribly (the ANW map is a good example of that -- 7000 foot plateau with an airfield. fully expect to see Professor Challenger and dinosaurs on it!!)

1 pointNow this one is tricky I am making a utility to match SF1 tiles with EAW tiles and change the references in the "eaw32.tm" file generated from the SF1 files from the SF1 tile number to the EAW tile number. This morning I added the save and load the temporary file routines, which allows me to save what I have done. The cyan colors indicate things that have been done already It takes patience, as there are 104 tiles in the SF1 set

SF2 OV-1A Bronco, Remod Pack 7/27/2019 -For SF2, Any and All (Full Merged Reccomended) This is an remod of the North American OV-10A Bronco FAC and light attack aircraft, previously available. While there are still several issues (documented in "Notes"), it is in as good a shape as possible for SF2 without having someone build an entirely new LOD. If you have ANY previous versions, you are STRONGLY advised to back them up or delete them from you Mods folder(s). This includes the aircraft, decals, etc. There are 9 skin and decal sets in this package. Skins remain in their original bmp format. Many decals have been refreshed to remove any "ghosting" around their edges. The SF2 "date switch" =IS= active on several skins. Included are the pilot figures, the drop tank and sounds. All weapons used on the aircraft are STOCK 3W items. The skins included are: USAF: 20th TASS Overall Gray (1969<) 19th TASS (USAF Camo1) 19th TASS Euro 1 (3-tone Gray/Greens) USN: VAL-4 "Black Ponies" (1969-72 SEA) USMC: HMLA-267 (1968-71) VMO-2 (1968-1979) VMO-2 (Desert Camo)(1990<) VMO-6 (1968-77) USMC Camo1 (3-tone Gray) As is always reccommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. Please read the notes section for more information and the change log. USAFMTL's original 2009 readme is included, in the main aircraft folder, for historical purposes. Good Hunting! 1 pointIt makes sense after all. This X-02 is the top experimental fighter from the Erusean Air and Space Administration, as introduced in Ace Combat 04. I wish we had other Ace Combat aircraft available, such as the FALKEN and the Morgan. We have a Fenrir in the downloads section, though.

1 pointVer. 9.7 FM update complete, now to package everything and write up the version notes, might take a couple of weeks. Have now combed over the Aviatik C.1, also the latest SAML S.2 (uploaded by Stephen yesterday) - and four different versions of the Aviatik Berg D.1 - an early 160hp variant, two versions of the mid-grade 200 hp variant, and a late 230 hp variant that also served as a test bed for the Berg D.II modification. The 230hp one is lovely...top speed around 210 kph on it. The 185hp variant was largely used for flight testing and has a similar top speed to the 200hp mount so I didn't bother with that one (I think there are enough sub-types now ). Also re-tweaked the Phonix D.IIa and went over the D.II variant as well. Pic. below is of a climbing test of the SAML S.2 - similar flying characteristics to the Aviatik C.1 but much more power and a good climb rate too. Will include a new sound to go with the Fiat engine as well. Happy flying, Von S

1 pointI was flying a recon mission in my SPAD XI when I was attacked by a group of HB Star Strutters. I tried to turn under them, where they couldn't bring their guns to bear, but one of them managed to knock out my engine. My gunner got one in the belly as he passed over and he went down. I was able to make it a nearby valley and land, but was behind the Austrian lines. My wing man got away.

1 pointI'm still enjoying Gterl's Italian terrain. I've spent the last two year's pretty exclusively in Galicia; it's refreshing to fly some planes I haven't flown for a while. (Emld's Hanriot HD1, my SPAD XI, Laton's Ansaldo SVA5)

Yak-25M Basic production version with some minor improvements, upgraded AM-5A engines and new RP-6 "Sokol" radar. 406 aircraft built (Wikipedia). I´ve started this template some months ago, then Stary teased me with a pit he was making, which eventually led me to complete the template. The model as is, is the one of Pasko´s Old Yaks, it has some imperfections you will have to live with as i was unable to fix. 2 High res skins have been made on my part along with the numbers, but the real Star here was Stary, giving a whole new feel to the plane with the cockpit he made. Also, must credit my good friend Daniel "Cocas" Liebaert, who let me use a MiG-17 seat we have for another soon to release project. The rest, of the people who worked in this project, i will need to send me a PM so i can include them here. Hope you like it and let´s beef our Red Army!!! Enoc Marquez AKA Flogger23 -

The Yakovlev Yak-15, NATO reporting name: Feather, was a first-generation Soviet turbojet fighter developed by the Yakovlev design bureau (OKB) im- mediately after World War II. It used a reverse-engineered German Junkers Jumo 004 engine. Along with the Swedish Saab 21R, it was one of only two jets to be success- fully converted from a piston-powered aircraft and enter production. 280 aircraft were built in 1947. Although nominally a fighter, it was mainly used to qualify piston-engine- experienced pilots to fly jets. @ Original Pasko's model (as just edited by Wrench, Eburger and so on, excuse me if I don't remember all) 2012 rebuilt: - tail mapping bug fixed - rudder mapping main bug fixed - front wings upside-down mapping bug solved - Inner cockpit corners ouside canopy painted - Stary's cockpit fitted in place (thank You man!) - a better pilot seat added - 13 historical skins made/fixed - 2 original fictional camo skin revamped - a whole new decalset - new hangar & loadout pics Enjoy @ Paul
