3 pointsIf for better engine you mean, solved bugs and new features like the ones I asked, I would vote for new engine any time. After all, I'm still flying Il2 1946.

2 pointsCome on guuruu, it's both! Aren't you tired of the old dx7shaders, and working on Max9.. (I know I am LOL!) Have faith, one update will eventually lead to others!
-
2 pointsI'm afraid TK still don't undestand, that new life for Strike Fighters isn't DX12, but support for AG missions.
-
2 pointsI am sorry to hear that, but happy that you took the matter in your hand and fixed it. I only get Nvidia GeForce card.

2 pointsQ. ok Mr Russouk, you are making 10 hi fidelity 3d model aircraft that the community wanted aded for a few years now,how much do you need to raise. A, £20,000 that will cover the cost of my time, making the models, and my graphic artists, time etc, if we dont meet the target then we will still make the update, but not for free... people who donated will receive the update free, otherwise it will be a payed update. Q.. so an update costing £29.99 will be free to those who donated say £100 etc..sounds like a bargain... sound familiar ? I quote " Please note that this campaign is set as "Keep it all", meaning we keep all the contributions even if the funding goal isn't met." Im being skeptical and critical not for fun but because I think TK has shot himself in the foot...if he had kept forums open...answered problems etc...and tried to start a Strike Fighters series fund ,when it was still busy ...he might still be working on the pc version now and not needing us to pay for updates to make the game we bought usable in todays environment in pcs today.

F-5E For Strike Fighters 2 "Early versions pack" Version History: v.1.0: First public release. Early versions without later refinements like RWR. DESCRIPTION: This addon can thank its release to the work of two talented individuals, FastCargo and BPao. FastCargo created the F-5F two seaters and BPao was the man behind the original Mirage Factory F-5E model. I was fortunate enough to get permission to work on these source models, with the goals of marrying the F-5E front section to the F-5F engine and wings which were quite a lot more detailed. It was supposed to be a quick project. One year later: I have completely reworked the F-5E nose, added a lot of stuff on the original fuselage and detailed both original templates to have higher detail textures. Meanwhile Sophocles graciously allowed me to use his superb F-5A cockpit as a basis to build my F-5E cockpit, in which I have also used parts based on FastCargos unfinished T-38 cockpit. Included is two versions of the earlier production F-5E: a basic version dubbed '72 and an export specific version with a larger vertical stabilizator and spine antenna. This version is dubbed '74L (L for large vertical stablizator). Happy flying! Mats "Centurion" Liljeroos FEATURES: SF2 standard external model 2048^2 textures with normal maps Realistic cockpit with avionics courtesy of Crusader FM from original MirageFactory F-5E which flies really good. OPERATORS COVERED IN THIS PACK: USAF Agressor USN Agressor Brazil Honduras Chile Marocco IRIAF Jordania South Korea Saudi Arabia Thailand South Vietnam North Vietnam (captured from VNAF) Ethiopia Kenya Indonesia Tunisia CREDITS: Bpao and Mirage Factory crew: Orginal F-5E model and templates FastCargo for original F-5F model EricJ and pappychecksix for original F-5F templates and textures Sophocles for his superb cockpit work. Every switch is a work of art. Crusader for his ini file magic, really makes the cockpit and plane come alive. Paulo for his mammoth decaling work which he allowed me to use. and even helped me by reworking some of it. Me for cobbling all this together (=texturing and modeling work) The rest of the Combat Ace community. Without you guys I would never have bothered to make it this far. INSTALATTION: Extract into mod folder of choice. This by and large replaces the old F-5E by TMF, so you can go ahead and delete the F-5E aircraft folder if you have it installed. NOTE: The _74L version references the _72 versions cockpit folder, so if you aim to use the 74L standalone in some installation, copy the cockpit folder and F-5E_72_cockpit.ini file from the _72 folder to the _74L folder. Overwrite. Stay tuned for more Tigers! This falls under the Combatace Freeware License Agreement. -
1 pointThere is ongoing development of the Vietnam-era COIN Observation Aircraft the OV-10 Bronco by an independent Developer. ETA of this Heavily Armed Legendary Observation Aircraft to the Growing Pantheon of Great DCS Aircraft is unknown.

1 point2 months ago i bought a new ASUS ROG Strix GTX1070 O8G Gaming graphics card and everthing worked fine antil 3weeks ago , on that evening i started my game Tank Crew by pressing the start button i got a very loud fan noice from my computer , i instantly stoped the game and checked my graphics card temp , showing 47° , and the fan rpm , showing 0 althoug the 3 cooling fan´s from that graphics card was running at max rpm so i removed the graphics card from my computer and by doing so i notice that a fan blade was falling in my hand , i thought no problem , i have warranty an after a short call to the vendor , who agreed that this is a warranty case , did i send the card back to the vendor 2 weeks later i got the graphics card back , still defekt and the vendor is rejecting the warranty by claiming it was my own fault by overclocking the graphics card and overclocking the fan´s , but i didn't do either of this !!! i always used the card without overclocking it , i called the vendor and told him that this would be not acceptable and that the graphics card was always used within the manufacturer standards , the vendor is still rejecting any warranty claims and is not willing to give me the rejection in writing now my only help would be ASUS , so i thought , but after a short call all my hopes a shattered , ASUS say´s that this is a warranty claim and in this case the vendor has to send the graphics card to ASUS for repair or he is giving a written statement why he is declining this otherwise they are not able to help me after all this back and forth i dicidet to take maters in my own hand i checked for a replacment fan in the net and found one by Amazone for about 20 euros , i bought it and started to repair my graphics card by my self and after 10 minutes work i installed the graphics card back in to my computer , sinc now 2 days the card is running without any problem , i made a furmark test and played all my games to check if there is any problem but sofar everthing is fine so THANK YOU , Webinstore AG and ASUS , for not helping me , as for ASUS this is the last item i ever bought from you

1 pointToday, thanks to a lot of help from Ojcar, I uploaded the Heinkel He.51 for the Spanish Civil War. The Heinkel was a one man, biplane fighter introduced in 1935 and used by the Nationalists throughout the war. There are a lot of pieces to install, but in the end you'll have a new 7.9 mm machine gun, a new German 10 lb bomb and a drop tank. The download includes a camo skin, decals, a fully functional cockpit, and my skinning templates. Ojcar found the 7.9mm machine gun in his SF install, but doesn't know who made it. I decided to use it anyway. If anyone knows who made the machine gun for SF, please let me know and I will give credit. Ojcar also taught me how to add controls to First Eagles so you can make the drop tank drop with a keystroke. He also included other features, like flaps, landing gear, wheel brakes, etc. so we can use some of the Strike Fighter planes in FE. I have included instructions in the download.

1 pointWhen I saw this message I instaled SF2 again after 5years and ....ok it was nice but I think that it is time to move. There is too many "hotfixes" which cover some specific behavior and technology is already obsolete. Yes I am dreaming about something similar - "semi lite", but still simulator with dynamic campaign, from 1960-80s, not primarily multiplayer game, with terrain which feels good and moddable.
-
1 pointYes guyz, you are ofc right, but tell me what you would choose... better graphic or better engine ;-) And Stratos and Sophocles .. you know guyz, I'l never say any word against you ;-)
-
1 pointAs Sophocles said, we need both. I will be more than happy with in flight refuelling and slewable avionics, maybe TK should release the source code and the instructions of how to use it. lol
-
1 pointYeah... ASUS once fucked me over when I had a defective motherboard... The vendor (luckily for me) helped me get a replacement under guarantee which works fine till this day. But I also decided never to buy ASUS again... I have since replaced my old GTX680's with a single 1070 which is MSI and I already like them better. Good luck, I hope your own solution works like a charm!

1 pointI've been able to activate damage modelling for all planes in EAWPRO. It was very limited for the previously none flyable aircraft but now is on par with all other planes as far as I can tell. In fact these routines were further enhanced by introducing more unpredictable behaviour when planes get damaged and the pilot is not dead (yet). Normally one would need to use an additional randomisation routine to make this happen, but in assembly coding there are many memory locations which already generate a random value which only needs to be read and then can be used at will. Such use will save app. 100 bytes from the game loop, every time a random value is required. and since the game uses this routine about 1000 times speed can be dramattically increased by not using it and just reading the value directly from a memory location, like for instance the stack pointer or Windows clock timer's microseconds. I've used it on numerous other occasions to save speed and space in the program and from here on, or actually from a while back on, I will usie this approach rather then calling on the randomisation routines where possible, after all the results are not any different but it will definately speed up the game a little. 1 pointAs you may have seen, I'm currently working on the F-35B skins, starting with the USMC. I encountered some decal problems which have been discussed in the other topic (below) and they have been solved by now (many thanks to @Wrench, @daddyairplanes, @russouk2004 for their advice). Expect some pictures soon, I will upload the mod when all the USMC operational squadrons are finished. Then, I will make some foreign skins for the F-35A&B before reworking the C skin.

1 pointThe average doesn't matter, it is the total. Clearly it is not going to hit the mark and I threw my money away. The active SF2 "crowd" is probably less than 2,000 people and only 37 have donated. That's a wrap. When I consider how much money I have spent going to movies that might have entertained me for 2 hours, I don't have a problem with giving TK some more money. I literally played SFP1/WoX/SF2 almost every day for about a decade. The F-4 Phantom is the airplane I love the most and to this day SF2 is still the best sim to enjoy the F-4 in its historical environment. The FSX/P3d F-4s I have from Milviz and Simworks Studios are amazing, but are almost useless in that environment. TacPack is cool, but it doesn't even come close to providing the experience you can get in SF2. At this point, DCS World is the only combat flight sim available that satisfies me. But even after the F-4E is available in DCS World (2 to 5 years away?), DCS World still won't have the century series or a full Korean War environment with flyable F2H-2s (and numerous other aircraft not likely to ever be modeled in DCS World). It is a shame that TK couldn't find a way to keep the SF2 series profitable and continue development.

1 pointThat's the missile coming off the plane "stupid." It happens in reality, although much less often than it did during, say, the Vietnam War. Still, SF2 does simulate the missile failing off the rail (I believe the .ini line is "LaunchReliability"), it's a random chance thing, not necessarily anything you've done wrong.
-
1 pointNot sure how I feel about this. I'm fully engulfed in DCS. It has its problems BUT it's more complete for my needs than SF at this point in time. Make sure you all re read that last part. He would need to do some serious upgrading to Win 10 usability and yes DX12 would have to be a player. I'm going to have to ponder this for some time. In all honesty I enjoyed my break from simming and I learned that simming politics are the bane of this hobbies existence.

1 pointI sent him a mail asking for more info, If he replies I will post the info.

1 pointIf anyone is shopping for a lite flight sim then the Third Wire store will be disappointing to anyone with W10 as it only has two simple games plus a space sim with all three requiring an Xbox controller. Perusing around the store further they will then see exactly what they are looking for (SF2 series) but for W7 and earlier. Surely, it is the storekeeper's decision to upgrade these to W10 and recoup the costs with fresh sales - no different to the normal risk/reward of any entreprenneur and, indeed, what TK famously did 'back in the day' with his beat-up compact car and $0.99 hamburgers. I've supported TK and Third Wire by buying everything for SF1 and SF2 (all games and all DLC) with a few SF1 titles twice (discs then downloads) but I'm struggling with this.
-
1 pointI have questions. 1: I have run Windows 10 for a while and do not experience problems with SF2. Are there any here who do? 2: 25 Large for a compatibility update seems like a lot of money. All the other features appears to be if he gets more than that. 3: Have TK considered alternate methods such as releasing on GoG.com, Humble Store, Epic Steam or Steam? 4: Have TK considered to lower the price of his products? One game still costs as much as a DCS Module on sale? I would be happy to donate if it meant SF2 got a significant update with a clear list of features. But now it all seems far too vague.

This file is designed to be used with a default control ini. so if you have made significant changes to your controls button assignments then you should move them away from the controls folder within your mod folder and then start the game and let it create a fresh "default.ini" in the controls folder prior to trying this profile. To install just place the "SF PITkey.pro" into your 'C:/user/public/documents/saitekSD6 profiles' folder then activate the profile with the little green icon in the bottom right corner of of your lower taskbar.....start the game and assign your axis and you should be good to go. you will have 3 modes NAV, A-A, A-G. Hat #1 works the radar regardless of which mode is selected Hat #2 •(NAV mode) cycles waypoints and also enables elevator trim •(A-A mode) cycles visual air targets •(A-G mode) cycles ground targets Hat #3 •(A-A mode) Cycles A-A weapons •(A-G mode) Cycles A-G weapons Everything else is not effected by which mode you are in See the attached JPEG which better explains where everything is on the layout. Enjoy Cheers Romflyer
