SF2 WW2 MTO Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VIF, v.9 by Cocas 2/10/2014
-- Something for the WW2 MTO players --
= For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
*This mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, at any patch level. It was built for SF2 ONLY!!.*
*Note x2: This mod represents VIFs as used in the MTO =ONLY=. This is the AI equipped NFs (Mk.VII), WITH dehidral (upwards pointing) tailplanes, but NO turret gun. I've allowed for other mission statement like 'Armed_Recon'. This aircraft carries NO bombs or rockets. You'll have to do with guns-only. Until the later model VI, X and TF.X arrive.*
This is a BRAND NEW aircraft, brought to you by Cocas Aircraft Factory & Co.
We are calling this "version 0.9", as there exists the possibility of more work being required. But, we wanted to get them out into the hands of our WW2 End Users for their examination and so forth.
This pack contains the following aircraft & skin/decal sets:
Beaufighter Mk.IVF
No. 600 "City of London" Squadron
As seen in late 1942/early 43 time frames. The aircraft is finished in standard overall MSG with disruptive Dark Green.
The Squadron Crest for each is used as the paint chip seen on the Loadout Screen.
Skins are in jpg format, as are the bump maps. Damage textures are in DDS. Everything is included, excepting the guns (you should have all these already). No bombs or rockets; these are Mk.VIF NFs, not equipped for them. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is set to TRUE.
Other squadrons can easily be reproduced by creating new squadron code letters. As is my habit, sample bmps are left in the various Decals folders so you can match the font and size.
All serials, while correct for the variant depicted, should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they represent no specific aircraft with the unit(s) depicted.
When in-game, you'll see:
Beaufighter Mk VIF (Early) (CAF)
for this aircraft. The "CAF" (for Cocas Aircraft Factory) will diferentiate these Beaus from any others you may or may not have.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them BEFORE installing this mod!!!. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.
Happy Hunting!

SF2 WW2 RAF Douglas Dakota Skin Pak 3/1/2014
-- Something for the WW2 ETO/MTO players --
= For SF2, Full-5 Merged, + Expansion Pak 1 (REQUIRED!) =
*You must have SF2:I Exp Pak 1, as this mod REQUIRES the stock 3W C-47*
This pak contains Skin/Decal mods for the Stock 3rd Wire C-47A, representing
RAF Dakota's in WW2. This pak contains 2 skins:
RAF (Euro) -standard OD/Grey
RAF_D (Desert) - standard Day Desert
Supplied are 26 plane-in group letters and RAF serial number decals. The
serials, while correct for the Dakota, represent no particular unit and should
be considered 'generic' in nature. Both skins use a 'pool' of the letters and
serials. There are NO squadron codes.
Decal randomization is TRUE
Also supplied is an updated/edited/adjusted C-47A User list, with many
corrected dates.
End users are advised to choose which skin for what WW2 mods folder
they'll be using (Euro for the ETO, and Desert for the MTO, obviously!). Simply
rename the textureset ini for the skins NOT being used, and the Game Engine
will ignore it.
This little mod comes about as I'm sick and tired of seeing Dakota's parked on
my terrains, with incorrect WW2 markings (while not perfect even WITH this,
they're a LOT closer!)
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are
included. So, please =READ= them BEFORE installing this mod!!!
Happy Landings!

SM.79 Sparviero
The Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero (Italian for "Sparrowhawk") was a three-engined Italian medium bomber with a wood-and-metal structure. Originally designed as a fast passenger aircraft, this low-wing monoplane, in the years 1937–39, set 26 world records that qualified it for some time as the fastest medium bomber in the world. It first saw action during the Spanish Civil War and flew on all fronts in which Italy was involved during World War II. It became famous and achieved many successes as a torpedo bomber in the Mediterranean theater. The SM.79 was an outstanding aircraft and was certainly the best-known Italian aeroplane of World War II.[2] It was easily recognizable due to its distinctive fuselage dorsal "hump", and was well liked by its crews who nicknamed it Gobbo Maledetto ("damned hunchback"). It was the most widely produced Italian bomber of World War II, with some 1,300 built, remaining in Italian service until 1952.

SF2 WW2 Fieseler Fi 156 'Storch' (MTO/ETO) Pak, 3/1/2014
-- Something for the WW2 ETO/MTO players --
= For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
*There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs below the 08 pach level. Due to some of the modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment (specific statements for decals and the 'open cockpit") all the features will =NOT= be working as designed in anything earlier. No support is/will be available for 1stGen users to do so.*
Some modification, tweeks, reskin and so forth for Raven's cool little Storch, adds another skin (MTO Desert) and new decals (radio call letters) for both. Also, a exceedingly modified cockpit from my L-19 mod, making if nicely Player Flyable. (as seen in the SF2 Storch Tweeks Pak from a few years back. Ths mod includes that, plus more!)
So, you have to 2 skins:
Euro Green (the original) (represeing ????)
MTO desert mottle camo (representing 2(H)/14 in North Africa)
Originally, I was just going to do an 'update pak', but it was just as easy to assemble a Full Aircaft Update Package. This was done simply for 'ease of use' (read: laziness!!! :) ).
All skins is still in bmp format. Decal randomization is TRUE. All the markings are decals. Each skin has 12 radio letter decals. There is NO hangar screen.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them.
This pak includes a number of changes for SF2, so if you have the Storch already, you might REALLY want to back up your original, as THIS is designed to replace it.
Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.
With Thanks To Raven for the bird!
Happy Landings!

BF-5A Freedom Fighter for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a very simple mod of 'The Mirage Factory' F-5A/F-5C to create a fictional export version in service with the Belgian Air Force during the 1970-1991 timeline with markings for No.1, No.2, No.8 and No.42 smaldeel (the latter unit tasked with reconnaissance).
BACKSTORY
During the first half of the 1960's, Belgium and the Netherlands both started looking for a replacement for their F-84F Thunderstreak fighter-bombers and the Lockheed T-33 advanced trainer for delivery around 1970. After both countries had written their individual requirements 12 potential aircraft were studied resulting in a shortlist consisting of the A-7 Corsair, the A-4 Skyhawk, the CL-984 (a version of the F-104), the Mirage 5 and the F-5A. In the mood of the times, Europe was awash with joint requirements and collaborative programmes so it was quite appropriate for the two nations to work together for maximum standarisation so the BAF and KLu issued 'Specification TFT70' a joint requirement for a tactical fighter and advanced trainer.
After exhaustive testing and evaluation both airforces reported to their respective Ministers of Defence, that with some adjustments, the F-5A fighter-bomber and the F-5B advanced trainer were their preferred choice. However, the Belgians had a problem in that Wallonia (the French-speaking part of the country) preferred a French plane (i.e. the Mirage) but after protracted political discussions including the promise of a good share in the license production of the airframe by SABCA and the engines by FN (both based in Wallonia) the F-5 was chosen. In the Netherlands Fokker was chosen to participate in the manufacturing program.
However, during this time Northrop had increased the price of the baseline F-5A by no less than 11% leading both countries to make a deal with Canadair who had recently acquired a production license for their CF-5 derivative. With its more powerful Orenda J85-15 engines and a more sophisticated navigation system this was a step in the direction the BAF and the KLu needed. With further modifications including more advanced avionics, moving-map navigation, radar altimeter, SAAB BT9 bombing computer, bigger underwing droptanks, a two-position nose wheel strut, extra auxiliary louvre-type air inlets for take off and manoeuvering flaps it resulted in the most advanced F-5A ever produced. Compared to the F-5A the more advanced BF/NF-5A promised to be a superb multi-role tactical fighter with a useful air-to-air capability due to it's 50% increase in turn rate over the 'vanilla' F-5A.
In early 1968 both Belgium and the Netherlands each ordered 80 single-seat BF/NF-5A's and 20 two-seat BF/NF-5B's advanced trainers for delivery during 1970 and by the beginning of 1972 both countries had 4 front-line squadrons and an OCU operational in service. The aircraft were generally popular with pilots and ground-crew alike and served both airforces well before slowly being retired during the latter part of the 1980's and by the early 1990's most BF/NF-5's had been retired with most being sold on to Greece, Turkey and Venezuela.

Thanks to Sony Tuckson of 'The Mirage Factory' for permission to mod their F-5A and F-5C.
Thanks to Derk for the BF-5A idea and for the bulk of the backstory. This is more of a 'nearly was' than a 'what if'.
And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.

Mikoyan MiG-21bis 'Croatia' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire MiG-21bis to create a semi-fictional MiG-21bis in service with the Croatian Air Force who actually operate the type but not in this two-tone grey scheme. Perhaps a more talented modder can reproduce their excellent real world schemes and add them to this package.
This revised pack simply adds two USAF skins as bonus content and with basic decals.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the MiG-21bisC folder into your Aircraft folder.
2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the MiG-21bisC folder into your main Decals folder.
3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_CRO folder into you main Pilots folder.
4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the TANK_MiG21BISC folder into your main Weapons folder.
CREDITS
Thanks to Third Wire for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim.
Thanks to Paladrian for the MiG-21 pit.
And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
