Meteors Over Korea
Bunch of Meteors for the Royal Australian Air Force used during the Korean War.
Basic modding skills are required to run this mod. (copy/paste, mod folder structure etc.)
Install:
Copy paste specific folders into a correct destination.
Fake pilot is required to run this mod. Also, Thirdwire Meteor cockpit is required from the original game.
Fuel tanks- not to be afraid. Overwrite or just leave it. 100 gal tank is original TW tank. You can overwrite or just simply do not copy.
175 gal tank also.
Tanks are just ini files. Mod use tanks that are part of aircraft lod.
Yes, again Meteors.
This is pack contains only F.8 and T.7 models used by RAAF.
All skins are in 4096x4096 format. You can easily resize to needed resolution. better to downsize than rescale to higher res.
All decals are based on available materials and are historically correct. Few nose arts included.
I've made skins sets per year regarding loses and reinforcements in 77Sq. between 1951-1953. I was trying to be accurate as possible even with all game limits. Loses / reinforcements are credited per year..so loses from 1951 are not seen in 52 - but new planes are available as reinforcements arrived.
Credits.
Veltro2k - the original model early model.
Me - model rework into T.7 and F.8 and some other mambo jumbo like skins, decals, research...
76.IAP-Blackbird - also T model re-working.
Charles - original FM from original T.7 upload.
Nose art decals for Halestorm, Bow 'em Over, Cap'n Mac - from Kulbit's Gloster Meteor RAAF pack.
Seat - all credits o creator - unfortunately I don't remember who made this seat. I guess skin is by Kulbit.
Pilots - I have no idea / don't remember who did it. All credit to him/her. - one of my favorites figures in a game - I've added this to correspond with the data file.
Weapons
RP-3 rockets from Ravenclaw.
This model is designed/checked only to work with ravenclaw's RP-3 rockets - so might be some strange positioning in other (stock) rockets.
Have fun
Report bugs.
Expect the unexpected

Elektroboot Type XXIII U-boat
"Elektroboot" series, the Type XXI U-boat and a short range Type XXIII U-boat, finalized in January 1943
but with production only commencing in 1944-1945.
When under water, the Type XXI managed to run at 17 knots (31 km/h; 20 mph), which was faster than a
Type VII running full out on the surface and almost as fast as the ships attacking her.
After the war, tests carried out by the United States Navy on two captured Type XXIs showed they could outrun
some ASW ships by going in the direction of heavy seas.
(The US Navy's first nuclear-powered submarine, USS Nautilus (SSN-571), used a modified Type XXI hull shape.)
For most of the trip it ran silently underwater on batteries, surfacing only at night, and then only to snorkel depth.
Weapons were likewise upgraded, with automated systems allowing the torpedo tubes to be reloaded in less than
one-fourth of the time, firing homing torpedoes that would attack on their own.
Even the interior was improved: it was much larger and fitted with showers and a meat refrigerator for long patrols.
German Type XXIII submarines were the first so-called elektroboats to become operational.
They were small coastal submarines designed to operate in the shallow waters of the North Sea, Black Sea and
Mediterranean Sea, where larger Type XXI Elektro boats were at risk in World War II.
They were so small they could carry only two torpedoes, which had to be loaded externally.
As with their far larger sisters—the Type XXI—they were able to remain submerged almost all of the time and were
faster than conventional U-boats, due to the improved streamlining of their shape, batteries with larger capacity and
the snorkel, which allowed the diesel engines to be used while submerged.
The Type XXI and XXIII U-boats revolutionized post-war submarine design.
Nearly a thousand Type XXIII boats were projected towards the close of World War II, but most of these were either
cancelled, scrapped incomplete or only projected

Douglas A-4D Skyhawk 'USAF' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire A-4E to give a fictional USAF A-4D with markings for the 416th Tactical Fighter Squadron ('The Silver Knights') in 1967 although the service years are a more generous 1964 to 1985.
BACKSTORY
During the Spring of 1961 the incoming Secretary of Defence Robert S. McNamara left no stone unturned in his search for efficiencies in procurement and operational costs and his attention soon turned to the successful Douglas A4D 'Skyhawk' programme. Douglas had already transformed their 'bantam bomber' by replacing the Curtiss-Wright J65 engine with the Pratt & Whitney J52-P6A engine and the forthcoming A4D-5 (A-4E) version was chosen as the baseline for a minimum-change version for the USAF. Designated A-4D (after the introduction of the tri-service
designation system) the USAF Skyhawks saw extensive service at home and abroad and, in particular, served with distinction in Vietnam where they replaced a variety of tactical aircraft.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the A-4D folder into your Aircraft folder.
2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the A-4D folder into your main Decals folder.
That's it!

North American F-100G for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-100D to create a fictional F-100G for extended service with ANG units into the 1980's. Two units are included;
The 125th TFS of the Oklahoma ANG.
The 131st TFS of the Massachusetts ANG.
Both units are dressed in a 'Euro One' style scheme on the upper surfaces only and with toned down national markings, codes and serials using late model F-100D serials. An additional stock T.O. 1-1-4 Camo skin for the 125th TFS is included in case they get deployed to Dhimar...
BACKSTORY
President James Earl 'Jimmy' Carter started his presidency in January 1977 with a detailed review of the US military budget and his most high-profile decision was the cancellation of the Rockwell B-1A bomber programme in June 1977. But many smaller programmes were cut or cancelled too along with the postponement of the re-equipping of TAC and ANG units with new aircraft types. F-16A and A-10A production was slowed down and many TAC and ANG units were instructed to hold on to their F-100's and F-105's for an indefinate period. In a genuine (but actually insulting)
compensatory gesture Rockwell were given a $45million contract to upgrade 90 F-100D's for continued service with the ANG with the aircraft emerging from their Columbus, Ohio plant as F-100G's with refurbished engines, partially re-skinned wings and minor avionics upgrades.
The first unit to receive F-100G's was the 131st Tactical Fighter Squadron based at Barnes Municipal Airport in Westfield, Massachusetts who had been scheduled to convert from the F-100D to A-10A's but instead received F-100G's which served until 1986.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-100G folder into your Aircraft folder.
2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-100G folder into your main Decals folder.
That's it!

Supermarine Spitfire F.Mk 22 - Royal Norwegian Air Force
This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire Spitfire F.Mk 22 to give a fictional Norwegian Spitfire F.Mk 22 with markings for the following squadrons;
No.331 Squadron RNoAF in standard RAF Camo.
No.332 Squadron RNoAF in NMF/Silver finish.
No.91 Squadron RAF in standard RAF Camo (not a real world user).
This mod requires AI Plane Pack 2 and should not conflict with the stock Third Wire Spitfire F.Mk 22.
I have elected NOT to make this Spitfire F.Mk 22 nation specific for the RNoAF but have kept it as RAF so as to allow other future skins to be dropped in.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the SpitfireF22 folder into your main Aircraft folder.
2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the SpitfireF22 folder into your main Decals folder.
At this point it might be a good idea to change the pilot to whatever you've got in your install suitable for the early post-war period.
CREDITS
Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
Special thanks to Kesselbrut for the Spitfire cockpit (an oldie but goldie).
And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.

Lockheed F-104E for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-104G to create a fictional USAF F-104E with markings for;
112th TFS of the Ohio ANG in a 'Euro One' style scheme.
162nd TFS of the Ohio ANG in a 'Euro One' style scheme.
198th TFS of the Puerto Rico ANG in a 'T.O. 1-1-4' style scheme.
It goes without saying that you must have the F-104G LOD's in your install.
BACKSTORY
Whilst, officially, USAF interest in the F-104 programme began to ebb (leading to only 77 F-104C's being built) they kept a watchful eye on Lockheed's progress into transforming the original hot-rod interceptor fighter into a multi-mission tactical fighter for export to selected 'free world' nations. As negotiations with Federal Germany reached a critical phase in 1958 concern was expressed by the Bonn government that Lockheed were attempting to sell an aircraft no longer wanted by it's home nation. Lockheed cleverly took these concerns back to Washington and claimed that lucrative export orders were at jeopardy leading to a token order for a new version of the Starfighter for the USAF.
Designated F-104E this new version broadly represented a halfway house between the F-104C and the forthcoming F-104G. Only 60 F-104E's were planned to be produced but the success of the F-104C flown by Capt Charles E. Tofferi in the 1962 William Tell tactical weapons meet, against strong competition from F-100 and F-105 pilots, led to continued low-rate production followed by a larger batch of 240 F-104E's making an eventual total of 336. F-104E's were deployed to Vietnam and surviving aircraft were refurbished for ANG use with the type being finally retired in 1988 when the 112th TFS re-equipped with F-16A's.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-104E folder into your Aircraft folder.
2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-104E folder into your main Decals folder.
That's it!
