South China Sea 250m v 0.1 BETA December 2017
===================================================================
This is a work-in-progress (BETA project) developed as a stand-alone for a merged Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam and North Atlantic.
Included are 2x 7z files; Project South China Sea-pt1.7z (contains the menu and objects) and Project South China Sea-pt2 (contains the terrain).
This project has been underway for over two years and started as a Strike Fighters Project One terrain add-on. Initially I used a standard resolution terrain but thanks to Stary's terrain tests I have managed to develop this terrain at the 250m scale. Not all locations are accurate due to game engine limitations.
This terrain is massive and covers an area 3000x3000km. Currently there are 511 tiles, which is a byproduct of building custom local/islands tiles for the region. I am not able to build all islands due to game engine limitations. Some Island tiles are very simplistic while others are pulled from Wikimapia and reworked.
Due to the large area coupled with 250m resolution you will need a strong system to run the game.
Please send me feedback if you find issues with the terrain.
===================================================================
REQUIRED for this terrain.
1. A merged copy of SF2V and SF2NA.
2. Terrain: Stary's Green Hell 3.5
You sir are truly a master!
My customized special tiles compliment Stary's work.
These include additional terrain, river, stream, mountain and Island tiles (some fictional).
===================================================================
Optional
I used a lot of helicopters for this project (AH-1 series, AH/OH-6, CH-47, CH/HH-53, UH-1, UH-60). If you have Yakarov79's AH-1F, I added an Australian skin to the basic AH-1F model. Yakarow79 was gracious enough to provide 2x regional specific cobras; AH-1J_PinoyCobra & AH-1J_TOW_PinoyCobra. Jarek thank you for taking the time to customize these cobra's for the South China Sea project!
The OV-10D - I took the OV-10 and modified the DATA.INI into an OV-10D NODS platform. I know the Philippine Air Force is still using the OV-10 airframe. Its not perfect but it is the best I can do currently. All I did was some .INI work and skinning (my skinning skills for this a/c aren't so good).
The PC-9A - I created a Philippine Air Force skin for DELS PC-9A using existing templates.
As an added option, I created 2 new screens; Main Screen and Single Mission. Drop the JPGs into your Menu folder.

This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages.
This terrain may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

Final Words.
A lot of thanks to Menrva and Stratos for their continuous support during this process.
Stary, thank you for the superb GH tiles and allowing me to take some artistic license with your excellent work.
Erik, Wrench and the other administrators at Combat Ace. If it weren't for this site, no one would be reading this.
I am solely responsible for this project. I hope you enjoy it.

Gimp tutorial for creating Thirdwire-like maps.
I have always liked the Thridwire maps but have never been able to replicate them until now. This project all began when my computer crashed and I lost my copy of Adobe Photoshop. At that point I moved to Gimp and most of my discoveries of how to create maps was through trial and error.
This tutorial is possible due to two individuals who greatly contributed to this effort; namely Gerwin and Menrva.
Gerwin generously modified his TFDtool to produce overlays (512, 1024 and 2048) that can be used to create Thirdwire style maps.
Menrva created 3 master templates, any one of which can used in paint programs such as Paint.NET, GIMP, etc. to create the Thirdwire series maps.
This package contains 2x attachments; the tutorial [Final TW MapTutorial_v1] and the master template [IraqWA_PSD Layers]. The tutorial describes the procedures for building a Thridwire-like map using the master template.
This should ease your map-making.
Questions please contact me here at Combat Ace.

SF2 NAA F-100G & F-100H Pack (What If...) by Cocas & Co. 11/15/2017
= For SF2 (Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended) =
*Note: you =MUST= have, as stated above have, at minimum, a Full-4 merged install, as this mod
makes use of many stock items, most importantly, various cockpits from the F-105 Thunderchief
from SF2V/E. Therefore, it's =vitally= important that your game version(s) have access to these
cockpits. Many decals used herein also reference the stock 3W F-100s. Make sure you have them as
well!!*
The is the release of a new "What If..." aircraft for USAF and Export users, the F-100G and F-
100H Super Sabre. Like the F2J Super Fury, these are expansions of the F-100 series, adding more
capabilites for air-to-air and air-to-ground.
This package includes both aircraft, with skins for various Export customers. It should be noted
that each skin has a set date to "turn on", using the SF2 default start date switch.
The package is broken down into...
= F-100G, single seater:
USAF
NMF, 417th TFS, USAFE (Hahn AFB)
SEA 3 tone Camoflague, USAFE (Bitburg AFB)
Spain
NMF, Ala 12, 161 Esc.
Denmark:
NMF
Overall Greeen Camo, Esk 727 (skin changes from NMF to Green in 1971)
Japan:
NMF, 1 Hikotai
also a "Plane Jane" NMF skin for those wishing to create other users.
= F-100H, 2 seater:
USAF
NMF, 510th TFS, PACAF (Clark AFB, PI)
SEA 3 tone, 90th TFS, PACAF (Bien Hoa Air Base, RVN)
Portugal
NMF, Esq.51
Greece
3 tone camo, 335 Mira
Japan
NMF, 10 Hikotai
The JASDF skins (F-100G & H) include several other squadron badges, for those wishing to switch
or expand that air force. Those from the G should also work on the H, and vice versa, with a
little ini editing.
All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Weapons used are all stock 3W items.
Skins are in jpg format, and damage textures are DDS. All other parts (pilots, seats) are
supplied. Each skin has it own specific hangar screen. With the fact all markings are decals,
other users can be created quite easily.
The Standard Animation Keystrokes (tm) is used for the Caonpy (Shift/0).
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read
them.
Happy Landings!

Mirage Milan S
The latest variant of the basic Mirage III/5 family is the Milan (this name does not refer to the Italian city, but to a bird known in English as the "kite"). It is similar to the Mirage IIIE, but is equipped with retractable fore-planes - these being nicknamed "moustaches". This innovation was developed jointly by Dassault and the Federal Aircraft Factory, of Switzerland, and leads to radically improved take-off and low-speed handling characteristics. Each foreplane has a span of 0.8m and features fixed leading-edge slats and slotted trailing-edge flaps. The whole installation is extremely light and only takes up a small amount of space forward of the cockpit.
Foreplanes were first tested in a fixed installation on a Mirage III during 1968; then followed a retractable installation on a Mirage IIIR, this aircraft being shown at the Paris Air Show in June 1969. Finally, a definitive prototype, known as the Milan S-01, was converted from a Mirage IIIR and first flown on May 29, 1970. The Milan S is powered by a 7,200kg SNECMA 09K-50 and has a greater external load capacity than the Mirage IIIE. It also has improved avionics, including the navigation/attack system developed for the Anglo-French BAC/Breguet Jaguar.
No orders for the Milan had been announced at the time of writing (May 1971) but Dassault has said that deliveries could be started in 1972. Switzerland is being strongly wooed with the type and it is reported that South Africa has been discussing a possible order with the manufacturer.

SF2:I Vautour IIN Upgrade Pack 11/27/2017
= For SF2:I (or Any & All, Full-5 Merged Prefered) =
Extensive modifications and upgrades to Veltro2k's S.O.4050 Vautour IIN Night/All Weather fighter-bomber as used by the IDF/AF. As seen on the CombatAce message boards, a major revamp adds 2 skins for ealy service in the IDF/AF.
This mod is designed to replace all other versions, in toto, of the Vautour IIN. This package contains the full, entire aircraft.
Many modification have been performed, and all are listed in the "Notes" section of this readme. Loadouts have been adjusted, as have several other important statements in the data ini. All weapons used are stock 3W items, meaning they still use the UK bombs. End Users (tm) that wish to swap out to the various French bombs available in weapons packs may do. Be advised, I did =NOT= test with those, so their attachment positions -may- not match.
All new, historical "plane-in-squadron/serial numbers" for IDF usage. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. However, due to the low number of aircraft (6-7) the randomization (for some reason) seems not to be working.
Even though there isn't another Vautour IIN, I've added a statement to the "displayed name", so it now reads:
Vautour IIN (V2K)
This is just one of my usual "things", when more than one of the type exists.
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please READ them ... after unzipping but before installling!
Good Hunting!

This mod is for WWII themed SF2 installs. It uses Fastcargo's Fake Pilot and seat method to attach a new RAF-style rear-view mirror LOD that matches the shape of the one in Stary's Early WWII pit to the aircraft of your choice. Instructions on how to do this are provided.
I'm releasing this under the Combat Ace Fair Use Agreement.
