Boeing 757-200 model, Turkish civilian pack....

This is a minor mod to give Wrench's excellent Sea Vixen FAW2 a 20mm SUU gun pod. It makes the aircraft (always one of my favorites) into quite a handy dogfighter and ground strafer. Just unzip the attached "Objects.zip" folder and drop it into your "VixenFAW2" folder.
 

This isn't just a pure fantasy. Well not quite. Some years ago I was on a sailing trip in the Caribbean, with an instructor who was an ex-FAA aircraft artificer (RN-speak for maintainer). He'd served on board HMS Eagle during her final commission, and told a tale of how 899 Sqn had somehow obtained a SUU-pod from their USN counterparts. The terms of the exchange weren't altogether clear, it seems to have involved a couple of cases of liquid morale restorative from the Eagle's wardroom (a fine RN tradition, history records that in 1945 the British Pacific Fleet used similar "currency" to maintain high serviceability rates for their mainly US-manufactured aircraft).
 
Seems that 899 managed to hang the SUU-pod on one of their Sea Vixens, but there the tale kind of peters out. My friend was very fuzzy on whether they actually managed to get it to fire.
 
What I have done here is assumed that Eagle's ever-creative air engineering department decided to hang the gun pod on the starboard outer pylon, the one that was already wired up for a buddy-buddy refueling pod. I've further assumed that they've somehow managed to adapt the refueling pod's power and control circuits from British to US voltage standards etc, to power and control the gun pod. Unfortunately they weren't able to go as far as altering the Sea Vixen's Pilot Attack Sight (PAS) to give it a lead-computing facility, so the pilot has to do the best he can with a fixed sight. This still works pretty well.
 
As for Controller Aircraft clearance? Shhh... !! (I learned first-hand how the FAA works on a TDY to HMS Ark Royal back in '78!)

Parani Aviation Company Piranha for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
 
This is a simple mod of Foxmonter's superb Pulqui II to give a 'what if' Piranha - Paran's first indigenous jet fighter. It's just a bit of fun and designed for you to toss into your aircraft folder and occasionally encounter it over the sands of the Middle-East but, be careful my friend, for the Piranha bites!
 

INSTRUCTIONS
 
1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Piranha folder into your Aircraft folder.
 
2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Piranha folder into your Decals folder.

Both the new skins carry French Air Force makings, and ALL skins make use of stock 3W decals.
All markings are decals, making it easy for other nations/users to be created. It should be noted, the userlist ini included ONLY has France and WGermany. Others will have to be added by the End Users ™.

This package contains a NEW "What If..." aircraft for Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm, and several Commonwealth & export customers, as used in the mid-1950s through the late 1960s. Everything is included, excpeting the cockpit, as noted above
 
Skins included are for the following countries/units:
 
No. 830 NAS RN FAA (HMS Eagle)
No. 882 NAS RN FAA (HMS Ark Royal, circa 1962)
No. 860 MLD (HNLMS Karel Doorman, circa 1956)
No. 805 Sqdn RAN (HMAS Melbourne)
VF-870 RCN (for either of the 2 CVs circa 1957)
 
The SF2 "date switch" is use for the Royal Navy skins. Other are selectable via their countries from the Select Service drop down, and will start on the dates stated in the userlist ini.
 
All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. The only excpetion is for VF-870, as it's rudder markings are painted on.
The aircraft is fully carrier certified. All weapons used are stock 3W items - hence the need for Full-4/5 merged. A pilot figure, and the drop tanks are included.
Wingfold and canopy operate via the Standard Animation Keystrokes ; Shift/9 for the wings, Shift/0 (zero) for the window.
 
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, as usual, give the "Notes and Comments" section a read, too.

AN-2 "HEMAAR"
 
 
 
HISTORY
 
The I.P.A.F.A units needed a STOL capable aircraft, to enable resupply to forward units, and also a limited parachute drop capability. the perfect aircraft for this was deemed to be the AN-2 "Colt" The Parani Ministry of Defence, purchased a large quantity of these aircraft, to equip the army units. A small number of these aircraft were blacked out for use by the Parani Special operations Group. This aircraft has been in service with the I.P.A.F.A. since 1947, and is deemed still capable for use into the near future. As an additional role, the AN-2 has been fitted with bomb/rocket racks, and is capable of executing limited nuisance attacks.
The Aircraft is much loved by its crews, and carries the name HEMAAR which means Donkey , its ease of maintenance and reliability, mean it is a very useful and flexible aircraft.
 
 
 
Installation and blah blah
 
I have included ( I hope) everything needed in one package, ie. the aircraft decals, weapons, pilots, and sounds. I have also included a SQADRONLIST.INI, and a NATIONS.INI to allow these birds to show up as a nation and with the correct markings. I have dropped all the respective files into their correct folders so, all you will need to do is unRAR/ZIP/7Z to your saved game folder, and allow overwrites ( if any) I have tested this on a full merged all bells and whistles SF2 so I assume it will work on unmerged too.as I said everything is there to get her up and running, just drop it all as is into your saved game folder and off you fly.
 
I have made 3 different skins for the 2 Army Forward Aviaton Regiments, one of which is a Spec Ops colour scheme, and also one in civilian markings ( Parani Air America clone ? ) the cargo bay door operates by pressing whichever key you are using for the bombbay doors. the aircraft is able to carry light bombloads under the wings, however, be aware, she is slow lumbering, and very easy to shoot down !!
 
This is the final update of this aircraft, I would advise removing any previous versions of the HEMAAR before installing this one, as there may be issues as the resolution has been raised slightly, I have also included lo res ( non wide screen ) screens for the hangar and the loading screen

Credit for the original model and workings to whomsoever was involved in the original aircraft. I have just played around and tweaked a few things. I could not have done this for you to enjoy without the initial hard work by the likes of Mr Wrench, Mr Paulopanz and all the other fantastic modders on here to numerous to mention, I am an amateur just dipping my toe in a very deep pond !!!
 
This is the 4th Aircraft from the Parani Army and the final one for this set, I shall be doing Navy and Airforce aircraft next, so keep your mk 1's peeled, for more Parani lovliness................ENJOY !!

After seeing the effectiveness of the F-86F Sabres in the hands of the USAF over Korea, the Dhimaris made overtures to the Americans to buy F-86's, however as the Dhimaris had close ties with the UK, they eventually settled on buying the licence built Mk-4 which was in use at the time by the Canadian and British Air forces, they eventually purchased MK-4 airframes for the Ground attack/interdiction role, and later on the MK-6 for a pure fighter /interceptor . They foung the engine and avionics fits , were more suitable for Dhimari needs, and used these aircraft until the early 60's with great success.
