Canadian 401 Tactical Fighter Group F-35 Lightning II Mod
This mod requires Strike Fighters 2 and a working installation of
the Operation Darius Mod available at the Combat Ace website:
Strike Fighters 2

What Is It?
This is a mod for Strike Fighters 2 and Operation Darius that adds the
Canadian 401 Tactical Fighter Group to the squadron choices when flying
the Operation Darius campaign. The original Operation Darius was limited
to the CF18 as the Canadian Forces multi-role fighter.
This mod adds the recently acquired F-35 Lightning II to Single Missions and
the Operation Darius Campaign for Canadian Forces. Canada, having recently
procured a number of F-35 jets for their fleet are replacing the aging CF18s
with the stealth and tactically aware F-35A Lightning II.
If you're a fan of this sim and the Lockheed-Martin jet, then this is your
chance to try it if you'd prefer to play as the Canadians.
What's Included?
I've included textures with proper Canadian markings, including the official
401 Tactical Fighter Group's own patch on the tail fins. These are simply
modded textures of one of the other squadrons texture packs, which were
crafted by the Operation Darius team.
I simply used their work and composited the 401 Patch and the appropriate
Canadian insignias on the wings, tail and fuselage. I've included the
original Photoshop layered files in case you want to alter the positioning
of the "Canadian" elements on the textures.
Installation:
Simply copy the two folders: Campaigns and Objects to your Operation Darius
mod directory which is located at:
WinXP or earlier:
.\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\[OpDarius]
Vista/Win7/Win8/Win8.1/Win10/Win11
.\Users\<username>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\[OpDarius]
where [OpDarius] is the name of the folder where you chose to install Operation Darius.
When you do, it should asked if you want to a bunch of files replaces, just replace all and have done with it and once they're done copying, you should be ready to go.
Thank you to the Combat Ace website, Thirdwire and to the Operation Darius team for making such a great
addon for an already awesome jet simulator/trainer. Thank you to the Government of Canada for
making the decision to upgrade our aging fleet of DEW line tasked multi-role fighters with the
now mature F-35A, and of course Lockheed-Martin for such an awesome aircraft.
Special thanks to the Canadian 401 Tactical Fighter Group.

Update - sorry, forgot to mention you also have to go into the Cockpit INI and change the [RadarScope] NodeName from =radar_screen to =vdi; see pic.
-----
Third Wire's F-14 was nice but didn't have a dedicated RWR display. The Mirage Factory's F-14 was fantastic, but the radar doesn't work anymore. Both are needed, and a fleet defender that's sans-radar is pretty useless.
I edited the INI for TMF's F-14 (see first pic) and spliced in the avionics from TW's F-14_82. So now TMF's awesome cockpit has a working radar, sort of....
Problem: TW's radar image is too large for TMF's radar display screen, so the edges are cut off. I'm guessing you can only see about half to two-thirds of the radar image. See pics for comparison. Besides not seeing the full radar display, important target data along the edges are cut off also.
Does anyone know how to scale down the TW radar image to get it to properly fit in the TMF cockpit display? I haven't had any luck
Thanks

This is a skin for the A4-AR Fightinghawk based on the actual painting of it. The A-4AR Fightinghawk is currently used by Grupo 5 de Caza (G5C) based in Villa Reynolds, San Luis province.
This skin is made from scratch, including the decals, which because I couldn't find them in high definition, I made them by hand. If there is any information that gives the skin more precision, feel free to let me know so I can take it into account in a future update.
Credits to Nyghtfall for the templates I used to create the skin, and to The Banidos Team for the aircraft (mod needed for the skin to work).
Feel free to modify the skin with the only condition that you give me the necessary credit, since this work cost me hours of work.
With nothing more to add, good luck and success.

SF2NA A-4C_65 Pack
= Tested in SF2NA, Full-5 Merged
This project started as a personal customization to improve historically the skins for the CVW-1 A-4C_65's Squadrons aboard JFK in her maiden cruise.
So,I realize them basically to be used in the Northern Sabre 69 present in the SF2NA Expansion Pack.
The skins are based on the superb Nyghtfall's templates,so much of the credit will be deserved by him.
All the decals was done by me.
All the Bu.Nos are historically correct for all three Squadrons.
==========
To Install:
As always raccomended, all in the relative folders in your game(s)
-----------------------------
Credits:
3W for the A-4C_65 model.
Nyghtfall for his beautiful template
Me for the decals and the small improvements
------------
Know issue:
The only issue is common to all three skins: I collected all the Bu.Nos. assigned to all three Squadron, but was unable to associate the specific Modexes to some of them, so I'll be a bit licensing about this aspect
--------------------------------------------
Legal note:
This package may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware addition.

F-16XL for SF2 – F-16E Blk 62 Fighting Falcon 2.1
In March 1981, the USAF announced the Enhanced Tactical Fighter (ETF) program to procure a replacement for the F-111. The program was later renamed the Dual-Role Fighter (DRF) competition. The concept envisioned an aircraft capable of launching deep air interdiction missions without requiring additional support by fighter escort or jamming. General Dynamics submitted the F-16XL, while McDonnell Douglas submitted the F-15E.
As we all know the F-15E was chosen... BUT what if the F-16XL had been chosen instead?
And so I give you the F-16E/F Block 62 Fighting Falcon.
The designation F-16E/F Block 60/62 would have been used had the XL been selected (The F-16E/F Desert Falcon as we know it today wasn't even on the drawing board in the late 80's).
Included in this mod are:
- F-16E (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon
- F-16EM (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon (CUPID mods)
- F-16EV (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon (AN/APG-83 AESA radar upgrade)
- 8 different USAF squadrons.
To Install simply un pack and drop into your mods folder.
Notes:
- The weapon stations are quite complicated due to the set up on the real aircraft itself and the limitations in SF2 with the maximum amount of hard-points etc. As such it is best to use the default load out from the loadout.ini. That being said if you do want to change it at the loadout screen you need to follow these rules: If the default loadout uses rail launched weapons (Aim-9/120, AGM-65/88) under the inner wings, only change it for another rail launched weapon and vice-versa. This is because the weapon rails are loaded as an EP class weapon that doesn't show up at the loadout screen.
- The default 'Attack' loadout is designed for the mass anti-armour mission as that is the kind of CAS mission SF2 generates. However in the loadout.ini file under each 'attack' loadout entry is a CAS loadout option with LGB etc.
- There are a ton of different loadout options in the loadout.ini file so check them out with the single mission editor.
- Loadouts are based on the F-16C Blk 40/42 but with an F-15E Strike Eagle flavor e.g. AGM-130
- Shadows are deactivated as 'tractor beams' are an issue as it is an older .lod
2.1 Changes:
- Added missing 20mm M61A1 Vulcan (PGU-28) to 'Guns' folder. PGU-28 loads generally don't have tracers.
2.0 Changes:
- F-16EV (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon added.
- Loadout.ini and weapon station fixes.
- Cockpits changed to Block 42 type with WAR hud as LANTIRN would have been fully integrated on the jet.
- Ferris test skin added for F-16E (XL) Blk 62 Fighting Falcon.
- Canopy RCS reducing tinting added as per F-16C/CM Block 40/42.
- Semi- conformal AIM-120 station position and angles corrected.
- Internal ECM changed to AN/ALQ-165 Airborne Self-Protection Jammer (ASPJ) as was planned for production aircraft.
Released under the CA fair use agreement.
